  1. I see Bill Hall is earning his money today........
  2. StL getting shelled, Cubs losing a squeaker, and we have Dave Butcher pitching. Course our Offense isnt helping any.
  3. This is Dave's last start right? Right?!?!? RIGHT!!!!?!!?!?!
  4. That statement is more opinion, not fact, and should not have been printed. I mean, my Advanced Comp. teacher would've had a field day with something like that.
  5. One great thing the Ushers do. They dont let you go back to your seat until the AB is over.... LOVE THAT! (course I had to watch Jenks' GS from the aisle.
  6. Now I think right now giving some AB's to Kapler over Cameron isn't hurting the team. Everyone keeps saying its a game of results; well, right now, Gabe is getting results and Mike isnt. Will that be different next week? There's a good possiblility that could happen, but for now, giving Gabe a start or two a week is NOT hurting this team in the least.
  7. Uhh who doesn't get annoyed when people sencond guess your decisions? Nedly has to go through that on a daily basis, and I'm surprised more managers DONT blow up at the media on a more daily basis, (Ozzie doesnt count) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. As for the pitcher's RBIs, Micah Owens went 0-2 and we can probably all agree he's one of the best hitting P's in the game today.
  9. It does make you realize how rare 3000 hits truly is when those guys dont make it to 3000.
  10. The question is, How good would McClung's starts have been if Estrada were the C?... I'd say not as good.
  11. No i understand thats really a bad example... but still, if Cameron is stuggling, it wont hurt the club to give Kapler who, as Yost puts it, "Is seeing the ball really well right now"
  12. I really have no problem with giving Kapler an extra start or two for Cam, a struggling hitter doesnt help the team. (See Bill Hall) How playing more does tend to lead to getting off the snide, but in the meantime giving Kapler a few starts isnt going to hurt.
  13. "I also share your curiosity to see how Dillon would produce if given enough fairly consistent at bats, at least in a platoon, to get comfortable. It's nearly impossible to get an answer either way for any player that's getting between 10 and 20 at bats per month. " I agree the bigger problem with the B/D platoon is Russ, Though I do feel that Russ tends to work the count better than Hall. I have no stats to back that up. It just seems that Russ strikes out on 3-2 counts. (Course one of the times I pointed this out to my girl, he promptly stuck out on 3 straight)
  14. Your agrument about Dillon in AAA as opposed to the majors... Could it be he was a starter in AAA and only a back-up so he's seen less PA? Granted the level of pitching in the majors is much better, but he hits for a better AVG so that makes up for the lack of power.
  15. Think of it this way... Russ's Blast was TWO STORIES higher than Fielder's. Thats impressive if you put it that way.
  16. "They may need the $10M that Cameron is due next year to sign Sheets, in which case I think your 2009 OF is Braun in LF and then some combination of Hart/TGJ/Kapler in CF and Hart/LaPorta in RF. " I could live with either of those.
  17. I feel Dillon has more ability to make contact than Hall at this point... Now I'd rather have a team of .300 hitters with average power then a team of .200 hitters that swing for the fences.
  18. Never accept defeat... as soon as we start playing for the WC is when we lose the WC... Keep playing for the division and the WC will be easier to win...
  19. Another note on Dillon, he played ALL those AAA seasons with a back injury.. It wasnt til after he retired that he got his back fixed.
  20. Personally... I dont like how Hall waits to make his throws. I'll take Hardy over Hall.
  21. Yeah.... thats why I dont like the idea of guys like Bonds and Sheff dont deserve to be in... numberwise sure.... but both are cancers to society.
  22. According to FSN... Russ is #1 Prince #2 Russ #3 w/ Russell and Helms. (And I think they said Dunn's homerun into the Dew deck was 1' shorter.)
  23. Steven A is the one guy over there I CANT STAND AT ALL.... Just makes me think.... "I'm an angry black man, so I gotta be loud and obnoxious all the time."
  24. To me Billy seems to take the grounder with plenty of time... wait a while.... then throw really hard and make it closer than it shoud...
  25. Of course at this point I'd say yes... But when we traded both of them, DD came off a very bad year and Eveland hadnt shown anything.
