  1. The Brewers are currently sitting with the 5th pick. Hopefully they continue to slide when they head to Chitown this weekend and get slaughtered by the Cardinals in those 6 games. I really want this team to end-up with a top 5-6 pick. C'mon Ron...let's start some young guys the rest of the way!
  2. When you see a box score for the TRats game tonight you would think that the team's offense stunk. Wrong. They scorched the ball all over the park yet they kept hitting the ball right at the Bandits' players. Honestly...it was almost comedic.
  3. We went to the game as a family tonight and Tyrone Taylor stole the show. First he flipped a ball to my 7 y/o son along the fence before the game and then he signed it **after** the game during the fireworks. What a class act! My son repeatedly said "That Tyrone Taylor is one heck of a ballplayer" over and over. He's got a new favorite...that is for sure!
  4. My inlaws have Uverse and absolutely LOVE it. They moved from TWC and saved over $60 per month for the 1st year and $25 per month after that. Great picture, decent HD Box and the lineup is fantastic. I can't wait to have it here in my corner of the Fox Valley...
  5. Kids had a blast tonight! I used the drill where I stood behind the kids during their throwing motion and put the ball in their hand when their arm was in the correct position. It seemed to help quite a bit. We also did a "power position to a crow hop" drill that the kids loved only because of the name. I also have to brag a little bit. My 7 y/o son one hopped the fence at the 220' sign during BP. Yep...really proud here
  6. Thanks for the tips all! We are going out to the park tonight to take some swings (their favorite part) and work on throwing mechanics. The kids have been watching a lot of the LLWS and have a goal of trying to be the Wisconsin representative in 3 - 4 years. While **I** understand how hard that will be the kids are thinking that they can do it if they continue to "work hard and have fun". Those last 5 words made my day when I heard them...
  7. Ooh...I really like that 2nd one Patrick...thanks! The troubles are mainly in accuracy and repeating throwing motions. We have a sidearmer, a 3/4, and a couple of over the top throwers. None of them bring the ball back to the correct distance and all of them have trouble with accuracy upon release...
  8. I am one of the coaches for my 7 y/o sons baseball team. This past summer he played in the 7U and 8U age group and next year he will be in the 8-9U team. He (along with about 4-5 other boys) can really hit...I'm talking about hitting embarrassingly well for children their age. The struggle for the team, though, is developing a consistent and accurate throwing motion. I know that there are tons of videos on youtube but most of them fail to address the beginning baseball player. Have any of you found a go-to video or training technique that helps develop arm strength and throwing consistency? Thanks all!!
  9. Tommy: [Trying to copy his father's quote] Hey, I'll tell you what. You can get a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there. But, wouldn't you rather to take his word for it? Mr. Brady, Customer: [confused] What? I'm failing to make the connection here. Tommy: No, I mean is, you can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a butcher's ass... No, wait. It's gotta be your bull. Richard: [embarrassed] Wow. I use the "No, wait. It's gotta be your bull." line all the time...good call!
  10. If that is true ARod needs to make sure he wears extra "armor" at the plate for the rest of the season as a "Code Red" may be in order here... Jessep (Jack Nicholson): You want answers? Kaffee (Tom Cruise): I think I’m entitled to them. Jessep: You want answers? Kaffee: I want the truth! Jessep: You can’t handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said ‘thank you’ and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to! Kaffee: Did you order the Code Red? Jessep: I did the job that — Kaffee: Did you order the Code Red? Jessep: You’re ******* right I did!
  11. Just dropping by to say "thanks" for the follows! I picked up about 15-18 followers since this thread was started
  12. I was informed today that I need to stop smoking. Huh...that's funny, I don't smoke! I JUST SMELL LIKE IT!! The filthy people in this apartment have officially really pissed me off!
  13. Hey all - my wife and I sold our house recently with the intent of building a new one. Then, our friends purchased a home that was in foreclosure for dirt cheap (her mother works at the bank that it was foreclosed at so she got a good tip on it). I don't have a parent in banking but the idea of purchasing a home out of foreclosure is very appealing to me. Has anyone here ever gotten a listing of these homes? Are there specific places that are more reliable for these lists? I'm not usually the type to prey on others misfortune...but money is money.
  14. "Oh, biker. I'm an idiot" comes out of my mouth quite frequently in the summer #SuperTroopers
  15. Super Troopers, Old School and Major League. I also throw in a Tango and Cash periodically...
  16. My apartment continuously smells like cigarette smoke. I don't smoke and neither does my wife. My useless neighbor and his son? Yep, they both smoke. Directly outside my door? Yep. Right under my window? Yep. The biggest kicker? One of them (the son) flicked his cigarette butt and it landed on my brand new F150 Platinum. While he ran over to get it I'm thinking he only did that because I happened to be exiting this dump at the time. Only 6 months left in this hole and our new house will be done. I'm contemplating a call to the local PD as it is technically illegal for them to be smoking in the hallway of the apartment...
  17. Axford, Gonzalez and Aoki to Detroit on 7/25.
  18. ...and holy cow...what a BEAUTIFUL swing that is!
  19. Aoki, KRod and Adford in a 5 player deal with Detroit on 7/22.
  20. Realistically...can Juan Francisco be an option for 3rd base for the next several years? I mean...not EVERY position needs to be replaced with a potential superstar...right?
  21. People also used to get banned for coming off as condescending and name calling. I did not call anyone a name and it was meant to be a fact...not condescending. I get that humor is a good idea when a season is going down the crapper like this one but the well thought-out posts bring more to the discussion than the "Wendy" and "blame me" posts. My take is the misses by the scouting department and some of the bad contracts that were handed out previously are coming back to haunt the team...
  22. All of these moronic, single name/word replies may not have ruined the Brewers season...but they are ruining Brewerfan.net. That garbage used to be frowned upon here. Oh how this place has changed...
  23. [sarcasm]Not sure about the 2014 draft but my son will be a 1st rounder in 2024 7 y/o, musclebound, 8-pack abs, batting .796 avg, 2.066 OPS in tournament play, rocket arm with real mechanics and a dad that will be his agent [/sarcasm] Seriously though, I would hope that the team takes the best player available. Personally, I prefer high upside pitching but the "next Bryce Harper" works for me as well...
  24. Great idea! @BrewCrewCritic I'm also known as "ShutTheBuckUpJoe"
  25. Maybe you should kick yourself off and learn something about nerve inflammation. I have suffered from an inflamed nerve in the past and it is nothing to take lightly...especially in the hand...when he hits a baseball for a living. Also..."stealing the fans money"? Give me a break...these are athletes and real people. They get hurt in the grind of a 162 game plus spring training season. I'm not a Braun apologist but your little rant there makes you look completely ignorant.
