  1. The GM Winter Meetings must be the most overrated event on the MLB calendar.
  2. If anything the last month has taught me is not to look ahead at the schedule and start counting wins. With injuries, referees, upsets, and just football it is virtually impossible to do, and most often never works out to your expectations.
  3. You must have been getting a beer when they had that shot.
  4. Wiemer would be the ultimate “sell low” player. Out of the outfielders listed, trading him would return the least value (except maybe Taylor). I believe the best trade chip would be Sal Frelick. Trading Frelick would bring you a greater return. With Tyler Black on the precipice of joining the major league team Black would be comparable to Frelick as a leadoff batter with much better base running skills. With the team desperate for power hitting keeping Wiemer would be preferable to Frelick as well Joey being the better athlete and defensive outfielder. However, I believe the best thing would be to keep the youngsters with Wiemer beginning the season in Nashville to see if he can reestablish his batting skills and make up for the year of development he missed in MiLB last year. With the injuries that are guaranteed (I’m talking to you Mitchell) to occur having extra bodies in Nashville is not a bad thing to have in 2024 to see what we have.
  5. Congrats to D.Williams. NEW YORK -- Baltimore's Félix Bautista was a unanimous winner of the Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year Award, and Milwaukee's Devin Williams won the Trevor Hoffman National League honor Wednesday. Bautista, 28, was 8-2 with a 1.48 ERA and 33 saves in 39 chances for the AL East champion Orioles. The right-hander made his final appearance Aug. 25 and had Tommy John surgery Oct. 9, which likely will cause him to miss the 2024 season. Williams, 29, was 8-3 with a 1.53 ERA and 36 saves in 40 opportunities for the NL Central champion Brewers. The right-hander also won the award in 2020 and joined former teammate Josh Hader, Edwin Díaz, Liam Hendriks, Kenley Jansen and Craig Kimbrel as the only multiple winners of the honor, known as the Delivery Man of the Year Award from 2005 to '13. Rivera and Hoffman were among the six voters, joined by fellow Hall of Famers Dennis Eckersley and Rollie Fingers along with John Franco and Billy Wagner. Balloting was based on the regular season and used a system in which the first choice got five points, the second got three and the third got one. Cleveland's Emmanuel Clase was second in the AL after winning last year, and Toronto's Jordan Romano was third.
  6. My choice would be Caratini for 1 or possibly 2 years. Bring up Quero if he’s ready at the end of May or in June. Ease him into the starting lineup with Contreras and Yelich sharing DH among others. The only question at this point is if Quero can hit major league pitching, as defensely he is already being talked about as a future gold-glover.
  7. If the FO sees more in Bauers than Santana this team is in a world of trouble.
  8. The main reason people do this is because of how Attanasio and the Brewer FO has dealt with FA recently. I really don’t see the Brewers obtaining significant value in FA or even a trade similar to Contreras happening this off-season, unless you have solid information to the contrary. However, maybe Mark has changed his tune and things will be different.
  9. I never meant that Mark was cheap. Just looking at past maneuvers he watches where every penny is spent. The best way to predict future outcomes accurately is to look to past history. It really isn’t that difficult.
  10. This was an inevitable Attanasio decision. There was absolutely no way the Brewers were going to sign Woodruff to ANY type of deal the way Mark runs the team.
  11. It was a lose-lose deal on the day we found out he needed shoulder surgery. There is no way Mark is going to sign Woody to a multi year deal.
  12. Come on, Oh baby don’t you want to go Come on, Oh baby don’t you want to go Back to the same old place Sweet home Chicago
  13. I don’t believe 2 months of Burnes will be higher than an entire season of Burnes.
  14. What kind of return do you believe we will for either Burnes or Williams? Top 50, top 20, top 10?
  15. I believe there will be many disappointed fans who are expecting to get a haul for Burnes, Williams, Adames, etc. Very recent trades for highly thought of veterans haven’t brought in highly ranked prospects that were originally anticipated. I would be very surprised if we would receive a team’s top 10 prospect for any of these players. Most GMs have recently been unwilling to trade this type of ranked prospect for a year (or less for a deadline acquisition) of a FA all-star.
  16. Two...entirely different issues, and I don't care to go further into the 2nd as it's pointless. Thank goodness, it would be great if you would continue to use this rule on all of your posts. Thank
  17. What a waste of time. Everything he said is a bunch of BS. Every answer he gave was just to burnish his reputation and want to look like he actually cares about anyone other than himself. Lies, lies, lies. His answers to the questions remind me exactly how a politician would answer them. I’m disappointed in the reporters (particular Milwaukee JS) not answer any tough questions or hold him accountable to explain his decisions.
  18. Mark isn’t going to say a word about the unfairness of the MLB’s payroll structure due to market size differences, as he is not going to bite the hand that feeds him. He is all in with the other owners when he cashes in and sells the Brewers. We are the suckers. not him.
  19. Let’s face it, managing in Milwaukee isn’t the “be all, end all” location that managers (or players) strive for to complete their career and cement their legacy. If you’re a doctor does working in Milwaukee enhance your career legacy if you have a job at Froedtert Hospital or the Mayo Clinic. Obviously Counsell doesn’t care if you like him or hate him, he doesn’t even know who you are and probably will never even meet you (unless you are stalking him). He is like 100% of us, he is only concerned primarily about himself and those close to him. Do you thinks he even gives a ratsazz if you boo him or even hate him, we are insignificant in his life and made no difference in his decision in taking a job with the Chicago Cubs and managing in Wrigley Field. Do you think he really cares if he is cut from the same cloth of anyone living in Milwaukee?
  20. He didn’t want to manage in Milwaukee any longer, from what it sounds like.
  21. No I was the one to have some patience with Rashan Gary. But you must of been disappointed when they got rid of Datone Jones, when you said he would be the second coming of Reggie White. Josh Jackson, DB 3 seasons Oren Burks, LB 4 seasons Royce Newman, OL 2+ seasons and counting NARRATIVE….lol
  22. But you told everyone the Brewers would match no matter what….
  23. That is what he says to rationalize his decision. I hope you don’t believe everything someone tells you (I.e. politician-T).
