  1. Nice work russ. That is a great little breakdown. If Sheets had more starts I'd say he should be team Cy Young. He really did have another great year considering a few starts were made with him still feeling the effects of his vertigo. Davis also has had a much better year than I realized. Finally, while Cappy has gotten great RS, his ERA really is pretty decent. It isnt 18 win decent, but pretty good none the less.
  2. please get him out... GAME OVER!!!!!
  3. Seriously, this is ridiculous.
  4. Turnbow looks spent. Yost is in love with getting him save opportunities. Yost wont take him out until the game is tied.
  5. Just for the record I would have left Cappellan in for Valentin.
  6. Boy, javier valentin looks like the one who got away, huh? .287/.903OPS, 14 HR 209 ABs
  7. ...and another hit 6-2. 2 on, no out. Nice going russ.
  8. cue Reds first two batters on in top of 8th.
  9. BOOOOOOOOOOYAAAAHHHHHHH! Hardy is a stud!!
  10. How can I listen in Oshkosh?? My hatred for the Packers increases by the second.
  11. Tau, take a closer look at Colon and Sabathia. There is no way I'd take them ahead of Sheets. Colon is having a bounce back year but the wins are not really relevant since it depends on run support. Last year he had an ERA over 5.00. Sabathia is horribly inconsistent. His ERA is over 4.00 for the 2nd time in 3 years and his K to BB ration is less than 2:1. Sheets is a legit #1 starter. Top 10 in baseball.
  12. Case in point: Marlins Mets - Willis vs P. Martinez last night. 2-1. Both aces. Is Ben as talented as Dontrelle, Pedro, Felix, Randy? I don't believe so with a B fastball, A curveball and otherwise empty toolbox Ben only has a B fastball?? Doesnt he sit between 92-94?? And cant he reach back and grab 96 every once in a while?? I'd place Sheets in the top5 of NL starters and top 10 in Baseball. Look at every team's best starter... Randy Johnson (Sheets is probably better at this point) Schilling (Ditto) Halladay Kazmir Eric Bedard? Mark Buerhle Johan Santana Cliff Lee Jeremy Bonderman Zack Grienke Rich Harden Barry Zito? Feliz Hernandez Bartolo Colon Texas?? Pedro Martinez Tim Hudson John Smoltz Brett Myers? Dontrelle Willis Livan Hernandez? Roger Clemens Roy Oswalt Mak Prior Chris Carpenter Oliver Perez The REds? Jake Peavy Jason Scmidt Jeff Francis Javier Vazquez Jeff Weaver? Are there ten on the list you'd rather have or who you'd be just as comfortable with at this point? In no order I'd consider these guys Roy Oswalt Jake Peavy Johan Santana Rich Harden Tim Hudson Chris Carpenter Roger Clemens Roy Halladay Mark Prior Ben Sheets
  13. If Jenkins Swings before a called strike, so help me....
  14. Wow, 5 straight balls and Jenkins is swinging. Did he skip little league?
  15. I dont know about you but I cant wait to hear Laravee and McCarren call the JT O'Sullivan to Terrance Murphy TD pass tonight. There is nothing as exciting as preseason football. **puke**
  16. No. An OF, he had a career OPS of .805. He played 21 seasons and still didnt collect 3,000 hits or 500 HRs. He hit more than 30 Hrs 3 times. Drove in 100 runs only 3 times. He's a very good player, but the HOF is for the very best.
  17. That is really interesting. Just taking that and breaking it off at 4.50 the Brewers record for League Average pitchers or better is 43-32-1 vs. Pitchers w/ ERA < 4.50 23-29 vs. Pitchers w/ ERA > 4.50 anyway, you have 128 games there, but the record would come out to 66-61-1, when the Brewers really are 63-65. Not sure where you get that variance from. Maybe you could explain your original numbers a little better, Id be interested in hearing it. EDIT: Nevermind, I see the W/L record is against the spread. That explains the variance. I'd still like to hear more about how you went about this.
  18. Arguing on an internet message board is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win you are still ********. Let it go.
  19. If anyone is listening to the game, I was wondering about how Gonzalez and Pierre hit/got their singles. Were the hits into the OF or infield hits that Hardy and Overbay couldnt turn into outs?
  20. Im not watching, but according to gameday we just lost on two infield hits...is that accurate?
  21. Ive got no complaints about Helms PH. He has been great at it all year.
