  1. Well then, someone forward this info to Peter Gammons and MLBtraderumors so they stop wasting their time, oh and lock the thread, because this guy clearly has an inside man on this one.
  2. A triple followed by a double? Three doubles?
  3. Just like last night, Wisconsin played a wonderful 20 minutes of basketball - the last 10 of the 1st half, the first 10 of the second half, but when they "go cold" they are brutal. Still one win in the NCAA tourney is about what I expected out of this team going into the year, and more than I expected during that 6 game losing streak.
  4. It appears that Wisconsin's best offensive move is for Landry or Nankovil to get the ball in front of the basket, surrounded by 2-3 defenders, do 3-4 pivot moves and then toss a terrible layup/fade away shot.
  5. Somehow Wisconsin looks worse in the first half of this game than they did last night.
  6. Ive been doing some lurking and the Mizzou fan base is ridiculously confident that "Marquette will never be able to keep up with them" They know that Marquette is in Wisconsin, but that they are not the University of Wisconsin right? Cripes you would think that Mizzou was a top 5 team the way they are talking the smack.
  7. I was just coming into this thread to mention Adduci. The guy tore it up in Spring so much that I was actually shocked that only played in two seasons and 47 games for the Brewers. I remember hearing his name all March for many years.
  8. I told my wife that I was going to stay up to see how Wisconsin came out in the 2nd half and that I would be up to be "shortly." Needless to say that after coming out on a 13-0 run I was up through the OT. I really do not know what to make of Wisconsin basketball. It seems since as long as I can remember, or as long as I have paid attention (think Michael Finley, Tracy Webster years) the badgers have been the less athletic team and had a hard time scoring, yet they somehow find a way to pull of good wins, while mixing in some stinkers. This team looks no different. In fact that FSU team reminded me a lot of the LSU team that the Badgers played and beat in their Final Four run back in 2000. They were tall, long and athletic, and had the best player on the floor, yet the Badgers won the game. Anyone know anything about Xavier?
  9. I do not have cable so I do not think I watched a single badgers game all year, but if this is how they played all year then they didnt deserve a bid at all.
  10. or cleanup for that matter.
  11. isnt this sort of a prisoner's dilemma type question? I would be happy to take a 5% pay cut to help save jobs, knowing that if we all took a 5% paycut that it WoULD save jobs, however, if I didnt know or thought that not everyone WOULD take the cut and therefore my job and their jobs would still be in jeopardy I might not. Does that make sense?
  12. Even if it isnt true and he was coming home from a strip club, he wasnt doing anything wrong. All I am saying is that nothing good ever happens after midnight, and that this is another example.
  13. That is great news that he is ok. But he was out at 1:30 in the morning, which is example 1,294,323 that nothing good happens after midnight.
  14. I dont know if I would agree that it is silliness considering the definition of the word uniform... 1. Always the same, as in character or degree; unvarying. 2. Conforming to one principle, standard, or rule; consistent. 3. Being the same as or consonant with another or others. 4. Unvaried in texture, color, or design.
  15. This is one reason to never use the email addresses provided by internet providers. Gmail for example travels anywhere and doesnt care who your provider is. Anyway, I had this same problem when my expanded basic package intro rate expired with TW and my service went from an affordable $40 a month to an obscene $80 a month...no digital, no HD, just 1-75. I just quit and now I get 4-6 channels over the air and I dont seem to mind, although I might get Uverse if they ever get around to installing it in my area (they have been a block away for about 6 months now).
  16. Replacing Towles and Ausmus would be about the only situation that Pudge would be an upgrade at this point in his tired, steroided career.
  17. I have issues with the format of the WBC so far, but all in all I enjoy it. I'd like to see the first round be a round-robin with the top two in each pod advancing and then an 8 team double elimination tournament rather than this two 4 team mini round.
  18. Cuba doesnt really allow anyone to freely leave.
  19. Cuba doesnt really allow anyone to freely leave.
  20. Yeah I think that is probably what he meant, but the way it was written it says that he doesnt have an interest in seeing the WBC continue vs. doesnt have an interest in watching it anymore this year. Its semantics, but pretty much part of my job everyday so it spills over to this forum sometimes.
  21. That is just the thing though FTJ, if Zambrano blew his arm out in a ST game we would be just as thrilled. I guess I just dont see the difference, especially with position players.
  22. I guess I just dont see the difference between getting hurt in a spring game that doesnt mean anything for us vs. getting hurt in a WBC game that at least has some utility. People are acting like these guys playing in the WBC are a bunch of fat out of shape weekend warriors that just got off the couch and are now giving it 100% and are risking injury. Braun is probably playing LESS baseball in the WBC than he would be in ST, only the baseball he is playing has a greater meaning. I realize you noted that he could just as well have hurt himself playing for the Brewers in a spring game, but to say that you do not have interest in seeing the WBC continue forward seems to at least imply more than your lack of personal interest in the games and a general interest in the WBC ceasing the exist due to the injury component. All I am saying is that the fact that it happened in a WBC game is really inconsequential. Even with a pitcher, unless that pitcher is pitching quite a bit MORE than they would be or more often than they would be in ST I dont see how one could get upset about pitching injuries either. Heck, Braden Looper is hurt and he wasnt getting ready for WBC action, lots of pitchers have had setbacks in ST this year.
  23. SeriesFinale, are you a Reverend now?
  24. or he could have blown out a knee playing for the Brewers... Yeah it is too bad he got hurt, but for position players it doesnt matter if they are playing in the WBC or in spring training, the risk of injury is the same.
