  1. I dont get the hate for Big Ten basketball. It is a certain style, a different style, for sure, than the ACC or PAC 10 but it is effective and plays well outside of the conference. Critics often times say the Big Ten lacks the more athletic players that play in some of the other conferences, maybe they do, but they surely do not lack good basketball players. If basketball were all about atheletics and running and gunning there would be a lot more guys that could hack it at a D-I level. But it isnt, it is about fundamentals, half court offense and gasp sometimes even defense.
  2. So does that mean that they are skipped in the draft? I have never heard of this happening before in any sport. Is this a new rule?
  3. Do the Bucks have a 1st round pick this year?
  4. Crede is asking for like $7M. I doubt he is a viable option at this point. So I guess Crede will be retiring then?
  5. With those schools as your choices, and wanting to practice in Wisconsin, I would recommend Marquette. For the bar privileges alone it is a better deal than the other schools. The trio of Minnesota schools are nice but as you can imagine they play better north of Milwaukee (in my limited experiece) if you want to practice/live in the greater Milwaukee area there are tons of Marquette grads and that degree will help you. Not to mention there are tons of clerking jobs available in the Milwaukee area in between 1l and 2L years and 2L and 3L years that could land you a job. As far as costs go, I would work Marquette a little more to try and get some money out of them. Also, what kind of law do you want to practice? If you want to be a corporate type then going into debt is no big deal. If you want to be a Public Defender or Assistant DA then money becomes an issue. JOhn Marshall is a great school to go to become a trial lawyer. I would probably avoid N. Illinois (isnt it in Rockford?) if it isnt in Chicago. Just my thoughts.
  6. I am a recent (2006) law school grad, maybe I can help. Since none of us know you personally, you might want to tell us (me) some of the schools you are considering and where you want to practice/live when you graduate.
  7. Hey remember Tostitos made a Salsa and Sour Cream chip, maybe even baked, back in 2002-2004. I lived on those. What happened to them.
  8. I really dont care that he worked for the Cubs, although it does irk me some that he grew up and is a die-hard Cubs fan. That said, I'll give him a chance and judge him on his play calling ability, but let it be said that I dont trust him.
  9. I hate losing guys like Pena. Luckily, most of the guys who we have lost who are like Pena have turned into Jorge De La Rosa, at best.
  10. Bucks fans should be ecstatic if they get Gadzuric type deals. Im sure the GM that handed Gadz his money was thinking the same thing.
  11. So you think Sessions and Villanueva are going to get max deals? So $15 million per year for each? I would also say Sessions and Villanueva are good now and are still young enough where they can improve some more. No I do not think they will get max deals. I was speaking mainly of guys like Lafrentz and Richard Jefferson. But I will not be surprised if Sessions and Villanueva get Gadzuric type deals that make them the bain of most Bucks fans existence for the course of their deals.
  12. So then in 2 years this team can be trading them for "bad contracts" to make way to sign the next average player to a max deal? It just gets so old hearing about all the max deals that are handed out to tall stiffs or guys who not only arent good now, never really were good when they signed their deals. Handing a max deal to Lebron is a no-brainer, but then people start giving them out to anyone. I know it isnt a max deal, but what the hell were the bucks thinking giving any money to Dan Gadzuric?
  13. If the Brewers do that then I am going to have to find some new toilet reading.
  14. So what exactly is the rule? If you need surgery your first year you have to be added to the 40-man?
  15. Ok, where do I go to see the interview with the model?
  16. That might explain his sudden drop in performance in the early 2000's. HIV/AIDS can be controlled to some extent (See Johnson, Magic) but if you are in denial and not getting treatment I would imagine that it could really take its toll physically.
  17. http://www.mlbtraderumors...9/02/angels-bobby-ab.html Not a bad replacement for Texeira on the offensive side. Also that should pretty well set the market for Adam Dunn, and I highly doubt Manny cracks 20 million, especially in a long term deal.
  18. While I completely agree with you here, maybe if baseball players would, I dont know, start telling the truth and/or stop using illegal drugs Congress would go away.
  19. At this point, is there ANY chance that after the Surgery, but BEFORE the draft Sheets signs with someone? Maybe even the Yankees or Red Sox, who sometimes take flyers on such players. Well, not the REd Sox because Theo is too smart to give up a #1 pick for most guys, much less damaged goods. At this point I would be thrilled if he signed with anyone pre-June draft.
  20. According to the D-List, the deal is done and could be announced to today but not official until a physical is done. The ripple effect this signing has on the rotation, the depth and the bullpen is huge, even if Looper is just a 4th/5th starter. Frankly, you cant say that (4th/5th starter) about anyone after Suppan/McClung (i.e. DiFelice, Wright, etc.).
  21. If we could get Abreu on a one year 4-5 million dollar deal as our 4th OF I think that would be fantastic.
  22. That picture is just screaming for Kevin Spacey to take the role. Beane is just as diabolical as Spacey's character from Seven so it should be an easy transition for him.
  23. Yeah, I had to get an antenna, or rather I had one so I plugged into the back of the TV. As far as my other problem with the herkyjerky picture, I havent stayed up late enough to catch a Seinfeld since the first night I had my TV so I dont know if there is still a problem or not. I wouldnt call it pixel-type interruption, just that the picture would stop for a millisecond or two and then speed up again to catch up. It did it regularly to the point that it was making me sick.
  24. Unfortunately, with news of this surgery and the rehab time involved, even I cant agree with giving him a 2 or 3 year deal, and I have been pushing for such a deal for a long time, since before the end of the season even. He's done in Milwaukee, and maybe done all together.
  25. Lets see how Jason Jennings pitches this year. He is coming off the same surgery, and while he wasnt near the talent Sheets is, he had a good year in 2006 with Colorado before being traded.
