I would've gone Caratini at 1B....
-
Wong shouldn't play against LHP. He's got a OPS of .392 against them this season, compared to an .802 OPS against RHP.
-
Would be nice if McGee could provide some stability out of the pen. He was great last year for a 107 win team and the year before that with the World Champions. Perdomo and Cousins nearing returns, too. Still, wouldn't mind a Jorge Lopez acquisition. Despite our great starting pitching, reliable bullpen arms are so valuable in the postseason.

Not too bad all things considered. But no one likes getting a bad head cold. Thanks!

Nothing worse than watching this offensive performance with COVID...
-
Too much looking.
-
Longest outing of Ashby's career. Channeling his inner Burnes. He's a guy that per the peripherals could really go on a run in the second half.
-
Nope. Freeland isn't horrible especially pitching half his games at Coors. But I was hoping for more....
-
It's funny cause we have quite a few guys who crush lefties. (Renfroe, Brosseau, McCutchen, Urias, Severino). So frustrating.
-
Why I'm hoping we get Josh Bell. Sounds like we're right in the thick of things there.
-
Nice start by Ashby, 6 strong, 1 walk, and lots of GBs and Ks.
-
Gotta be quicker there Ashby...
-
Cute.
-
Ashby's potential is so tantalizing....Nasty stuff that inning.
-
Our hitters could stand to learn a lot from the Rockies' hitters mentality...
-
Would like to see Ashby develop a harder slider/cutter if he can. Would help get hitters off his fastball and slider. Of course, not everyone can be Corbin Burnes...
-
It's cause we're facing a lefty.
-
They announced today that Cousins is headed on a rehab assignment.

Kris Bryant out of the lineup tonight. I'll certainly take that...
-
Tomorrow's starter will likely be Ethan Small...

Hey, the Brewers are mentioned by an MLB executive as a "favorite" for Soto....I highly suspect that said executive just threw our name out there due to Stearns being our GM and our clear need for offensive upgrades. In a world where we didn't sign Yelich to a huge contract, this would raise my eyebrow at least a tad bit. But, since that world doesn't exist, I will instead laugh this off. https://www.mlb.com/news/executives-weigh-in-on-juan-soto-trade-possibilities Hypothetically, a competitive trade package from us would probably be something like this: Chourio, Frelick, Wiemer, Turang, Quero, Ashby. Even that might not be enough...

Players earning a promotion by next year.

And now I will be able to watch Chourio in person....What a day! What a weekend!

Phewww. Hader's not that far away from being dominant again, but he's gotta start locating and mixing better.
