  1. Five innings of three run ball isn't the worst. But it does leave you wanting more. I just want to see Houser throw some more strikes and get the ground balls early in the count. Time to get some more runs!
  2. Yeah, I wouldn't be opposed to moving Houser out of the rotation at this point.
  3. The reason why they're trying out Severino at 1B in AA these days...
  4. Nice piece of hitting, Luis. Please heat up now.
  5. Yelich makes those types of plays, too. The stats are pretty definitive that Yelich is a better defender in left field than McCutchen. McCutchen is not a good fielder at this stage of his career.
  6. How do you know anything about his personal situation? The guy has young kids.... And you should be empathetic, because he's a human and a father/husband regardless of what he does or how much money he makes. This is quite the disturbing take. I recommend not doubling down on it. Or are you one of those people that's mad at Hader for not being in the bullpen this weekend?
  7. Finished with 2 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 SO. Taken out with 1 out left in the 3rd because he reached his limit of 50 pitches. Presumably he will make one more rehab start in Appleton with a pitch count of 75-80.
  8. Assuming Woodruff was removed because he hit his limit of 50 pitches. Finishes with a line of 2 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1BB, 7 SO. The K's in particular are nice to see. Probably one more start in Appleton to get his pitch count to around 75-80. Anyone watching to see how the breaking balls looked?
  9. Screw the series win, let's get the sweep tomorrow!
  10. Our "C list" pitchers have done quite the job today. Okay, maybe Milner has worked his way onto the "B list"....
  11. I think I know why Tim Dillard loves Trevor Kelley so much....
  12. Take him out. They're putting together good swings now.
  13. The cost of 1 win in WAR over the last few years is around $9-10 million. Cain produced 11.5 in WAR over the course of his latest tenure with the Brewers, including this season. So, purely by the numbers, we got what we paid for and more.
  14. For those of you who are wondering about a possible defensive drop-off in CF with Cain no longer on the roster, Jonathan Davis' reputation on that end is as good if not better at this point in their respective careers.
  15. Last year was solid, too. He just completely fell off a cliff this year. But I don't think there's any doubt he earned his deal. His 2018 was MVP-type stuff and was a big reason we made it to game 7 of the NLCS. Then, in 2019, his glove was the stuff of legends, as represented by his game-saving home run robbery to close out the victory on opening day against the Cardinals.
  16. I know I've been advocating for it relentlessly, but I do have this empty feeling in my stomach knowing that it's actually happened now. Cain has been such a great player and representative for this franchise and it'll be weird not seeing his smiling face on the field or in the dugout. Best wishes in retirement, Lorenzo, and we'll see you in a few years or so when you're inducted into the Brewers Wall of Honor.
  17. Guys, I think Lorenzo Cain may have just been DFA'd....Unless there's another injury I'm unaware of.
  18. Pitcher wins mean nothing. Don't ever look at them. There's a reason Woody finished fifth in Cy Young balloting last year.... As far as this year, his ERA is very misleading and is held up by a forgettable start in cold-weather Chicago to start the season coming off a shortened spring training and another one in Cincinnati. Look past the ERA at the underlying metrics (FIP, xFIP, K/9, etc.) and you'll see that he's that same top 10 pitcher.
  19. Thank you Red Sox. Goldschmidt called out on strikes on 3-2 and the lead is down to 1 game...
  20. Red Sox bullpen is trying to blow a 5 run lead against the Cardinals all with 2 outs. Goldschmidt up down one with a runner on second....
  21. Same. It's all about the Brewers, Packers, Badgers, and Bucks for me, in that order. I guess I meant that those are the teams I would root for if the Brewers weren't in the playoffs or something like that. Because while the Brewers are in-season, they occupy all of my focus, attention, joy, tears, etc.
