  1. Dude. I don't think anyone else but you could read that and think that I actually believe the umpire was deliberately trying to get Ashby injured.
  2. If Cain gets on, I would be tempted to pinch hit Brosseau, despite the righty on the mound.... Nevermind, I don't know why I get my hopes up with Cain anymore.
  3. Adames is either 2nd or 3rd in WAR in the NL among shortstops. He has more than a realistic chance.
  4. If Adames comes back soon he has a shot, too. You figure Hader and Burnes are close to locks on the pitching side, with Lauer also having a definite chance.
  5. I hope they at least pinch hit him for Cain when his spot comes up.
  6. We shouldn't even be reliant on an umpire's vision at this point. Automate the darn strike zone.
  7. And then there's that crap.....Thankfully, Perdomo was able to throw another quality pitch on the next pitch.
  8. Obviously, I wasn't actually serious about the ump trying to get Ashby hurt. Was an expression of my frustration that the ump gave him such a late timeout call, which could certainly have led to Ashby getting hurt. Ashby ended up throwing what would have been a strike but clearly let up on his delivery. Narvaez and Counsell were both quite angry.
  9. No, the ump granting it to him when Ashby was in the process of starting his delivery, leading him to pull back a bit. In addition to the missed strike three call on 2-2 the previous batter.
  10. Missed strike three call leads to a leadoff walk. What else is new....AND THEN TRIES TO GET ASHBY INJURED...
  11. Yes. That would definitely be an option. Urias' best position is also probably second, too. So some flexibility for sure.
  12. Great recovery from Ashby after two straight walks and 3-0 on Hosmer. He's continuing to grow as a pitcher, which is great to see.
  13. No. It has been. And the stats bear it out, too. Obviously, he has a long track record of stellar defense, so you just have to hope it'll revert to his career norm at some point.
  14. Some hard hit balls and bad luck for the Brewers thus far.
  15. Yes. I really do like the fact that Taylor is hitting to the point now where we don't HAVE to acquire a centerfielder at the deadline. Provides us the flexibility to go after the best value regardless of position, as opposed to using all of our chips on a specific piece.
  16. With Ashby's heavy ground ball and strikeout profile, I would've thought that they might be able to get away with playing McCutchen in RF and allowing Hiura to DH. Oh well, maybe Cain will finally hit his first HR of the season, today. He has to at some point, right? Also, I see that every Padre will be facing Ashby for the first time today. Given Ashby's unorthodox pitching style and overall nastiness, that should hopefully work in our favor, so long as he can find the plate.
  17. Glancing through today's box scores, I noticed that Zack Brown has posted some solid numbers out of the bullpen in Nashville. He was taken one round after Burnes in 2016 and is a guy many were excited about after his Brewers Minor League Pitcher of the Year campaign in 2018, though he quickly lost his luster after a rough 2019 season in then-AAA San Antonio. @Julio MuchachoIs he a guy that could potentially get a look with the big league club this season? Or is there something that I'm missing? Control issues, maybe?
  18. Devin! Nice win. Burnes was Burnes. And Tyrone continuing his hot hitting ways. Now to get that series win tomorrow against Darvish, whom we have quite a bit of experience against...
