  1. They have certainly held up pretty well thus far. Now, finish this game off without any issues and head to Wrigley to kick the crap out of the Cubs!
  2. And when we're already in first place over them, too!
  3. That's one of the reasons you don't move a Gold Glove 2B to SS for offense....Cardinals have their problems just like us.
  4. Yelich's underlying metrics are still really good, but I wouldn't be opposed to giving him one of the games off tomorrow...
  5. I wonder how many DRS the Cardinals have accumulated over the course of this series....
  6. I think I'll enjoy playing them just a tad bit more starting next season when Molina, Pujols, and potentially Wainwright are all gone....
  7. Best healthy pitcher in baseball, and there's not much debate. And an argument for best pitcher period, though DeGrom last year was the best pitching I've ever seen before he got hurt.
  8. Renfroe coming back this week might be it for Cain. At the very least in terms of meaningful playing time.
  9. Okay. That was actually some rough luck for Lo. But good to see that we're getting some good swings against Mikolas and driving his pitch count up.
  10. Rarely do I get frustrated with Counsell, but his insistence on starting McCutchen over Hiura against RHP despite all the statistical and anecdotal evidence is just ridiculous. On the bright side, Arenado is out of the lineup today. While he’s actually been quite cold recently, he is still incredibly scary, especially when hitting after Goldschmidt, who is hitting like prime Barry Bonds right now. Plus, with the absence of his glove at third, maybe McCutchen will hit into one less DP today.
  11. With the recent clearing of the 40 man spots and the fact that his regular turn in the AAA rotation is on Monday, I would be shocked if it's anybody but Small.
  12. Nice of Caratini to help out with the old run differential.
  13. Great job by Sanchez and the back of the bullpen today. Seems like that aspect of our team has solidified after a few trying games.
  14. If I had a dollar for every McCutchen double play this road trip...
  15. And Cain needs to be DFA'd. I'm sorry, but it's time. You've even got Levering and Dillard reminiscing about what he's meant for the organization now.
  16. That was absolutely smoked. If I don't see Hiura at DH against a right-hander in Mikolas tomorrow I might go crazy.
  17. Yeah. No concern would be foolish, with how our offense is hitting with runners on base rn. But it's a pitching matchup that should favor us. Very few opposing pitchers (if any in this league) where Burnes doesn't give us at least a decent edge.
  18. I want so bad for Turang to get a call-up. Especially with the mediocre defense we've been getting from our infield.
  19. The only complaint I have about Houser is that he's gotta really work on limiting these "blow-up" starts. Cause he's been terrific, otherwise.
  20. Cardinals making us pay for our defensive miscues this series.
