  1. If all that is is an ankle roll, we'll be okay...In the meantime, welcome to the big show Brice Turang!
  2. Counsell said Friday before the game I believe that they're expecting McCutchen back for the Braves series, and that he still hadn't produced two negative COVID tests, which is required for return to play.
  3. People said the same thing about the Braves last year and the Nationals before them. It's May. Trades haven't even been made yet. And the Brewers chances of making the playoffs/winning the division are well above eighty percent right now. It's all about getting to the playoffs, and then getting/staying hot once there. Relax.
  4. And Mejia should join Gustave on the shuttle back to AAA. Bring up small and Sanchez.
  5. Renfroe was a great pickup. So glad we have him instead of shelling out a big contract for Garcia.
  6. Cain needs to sit in favor of Taylor/Turang/Dahl. This is getting ridiculous. He’s OPSing less than 500 and we’re almost to Memorial Day.
  7. So do I. And I think some moves are coming that may get us to that level. But, as we saw with the Braves last year, who were a mediocre team for much of the year, just getting to the playoffs gives you a real shot.
  8. Okay. Well pretty much all of the evidence suggests you’re wrong.
  9. 95 wins last year. 1st place this year with one of the best records in the NL despite not firing on all cylinders. What’s not good about that. One road trip does not a bad team make.
  10. Ken Rosenthal talks about him as a top trade target for the Brewers in this column https://theathletic.com/3309703/2022/05/13/angels-trade-deadline-no-hitter-mlb-baseball/ (subscription required). Overall, I would definitely be in favor of it. Gold Glove left-fielder (can also play center in a pinch) who is really swinging the bat well to start the season. Would add a left-handed hitting option to the outfield other than Jace Peterson and allows you to DH Yelich against right-handers instead of McCutchen. Free agent after the season, so wouldn't require us to part with a top 5 prospect. It's been 11 years since we provided Kansas City with some of the key pieces for their World Series runs, time for them to do the same for us.
  11. Better than the Mariners, who not only have never made a World Series, but who have also failed to even make the playoffs for the last twenty-plus years. The 1982 team is also one of the best and most memorable runner-up teams in history, with five future hall of famers and a home-run centric style that was ahead of its time. I do hope that we will be commemorating a World Series championship team sometime soon, though.
  12. Cardinals losing at home to the Giants 8-2 after a five run SF eighth. If that holds, the Brewers division lead would increase to 3.5. Overall, the Cardinals are getting very little production from the bottom of their order right now, and they just demoted DeJong to AAA. Also, they're heavily reliant on soft-tossers in their rotation, including a 40 year old Adam Wainwright. Though they have some solid relievers (Helsley has been insane in the early going) and Arenado/Goldschmidt continue to be themselves, it's hard to see how they have the firepower to keep up with us throughout the course of the season. Meanwhile, the Reds continue their recent offensive onslaught, besting the Pirates 8-2. As we saw this past week, they retain some quality hitters and are not nearly as historically bad as their early record would indicate. As for the Cubs, who cares; they just plain suck.
  13. Missing Khris.
  14. Not necessarily. You don't rush guys back from those kinds of injuries unless they're absolutely ready to play. See Klay Thompson.
  15. Why Bud continues to insist on Hill guarding Tatum is beyond me, particularly when Tatum is going off tonight. Stick Holiday or Matthews on him, for cripe's sake.
  16. Marcus Smart is the worst. He flops like everywhere like a fish.
  17. That's totally a block.
  18. Well, in the event the Bucks can't pull off another 4th quarter comeback tonight, at least I'll have this to fall back on.
  19. Gotta be careful with Soler here. He can really turn around on a fastball.
  20. But Bill said he's really been coming around with the bat lately...
  21. I would love a bunt here. But I'm not expecting it, unfortunately. Just gotta hope Taylor doesn't hit into a DP.
  22. Normally, I would say Yelich should run here, but we're facing a lefty and Stallings is a great defensive catcher.
