  1. While Counsell surely has made questionable decisions in his tenure (what manager hasn't), I will always be hesitant to criticize the guy who's led us to a record four playoff appearances in a row, has us in first place this season, and who is widely considered to be one of the top managers in baseball. As far as the Adames thing specifically, the guy has been one of our best hitters this season and has just recently entered a cold streak. You don't make those kinds of rash decisions based off a few subpar games. Not that batting orders matter that much anyways...
  2. Don't jinx him! I just wanna see a relatively clean game from the defense today.
  3. Not really. A 2.47 FIP and .339 BABIP tells me pretty much all I need to know about what to expect going forward. Sure he's been getting hit a little harder and his whiff rate is down relative to last year, but that's in an extremely limited sample size. He's still striking guys out and the stuff is there. His main problem early on was locating his breaking pitches, particularly his slider, for strikes, but he's been much better at that the last couple of starts.
  4. Believe it or not, Freddy has some of the best peripherals on the team despite a seemingly slow start to the season (2.47 FIP). He's just run into a significant amount of bad luck (.339 BABIP). In fact, his numbers are virtually identical (and in some cases, superior) to his all-star campaign last year. Given this fact and his sterling history at GABP, I'm expecting him to put forward a vintage Freddy performance tonight and be the driving force behind a decisive Brewers victory.
  5. Suspected this was coming after Gustave was roughed up the last two games. Mejia has been excellent in AAA (0.84 ERA, 15 Ks in 10.2 IP). Excited to see what he brings, though I hope it's closing out a blowout. Stearns has already hit on Gott; let's see if he can make it 2/2 in offseason bullpen acquisitions.
  6. Well, that's it. Don't get trying to get another inning out of Milner. Pitching let us down tonight. Oh well, come back again tomorrow. Even bad teams will win their games.
  7. Dodgers lost to the Pirates, only scoring one run. Even the best teams lose to the bad teams once in a while. Still think we can get two runs against this Reds bullpen. That guy they just pitched is their one good reliever.
  8. Milner, on the other hand, has looked really good.
  9. Thanks blue for missing that strike three call...
  10. Still, it's not in accordance with their career trends. Absolutely nothing to be concerned about with Burnes. The guy is pitching like best pitcher in baseball right now (and probably is as long as DeGrom remains on the IL all the time). Woody has had a rough start to the season for sure, but he has a long history of elite pitching and his peripherals remain encouraging.
  11. Good news, is the Reds bullpen isn't much better than their starting pitching. Three runs is doable, but it's going to require some good at bats.
  12. Woodruff just not throwing enough strikes right now.
  13. Why do I have the feeling Castillo is going to end up in Dodgers uniform and gonna end up spinning a gem against us in the postseason...
  14. What is wrong with Wong's defense? Guy's been a butcher lately....
  15. The good thing is that they've all been solo ones with the exception of Hoerner's opening day two run shot against Burnes. They also have not been guys who have been homer prone in their careers, especially Burnes (post-2019). So, not too worried...
