    Like it or not, LA plays small ball, and plays it well.

    The store at Mayfair said they're getting the hats today, whenever their UPS guy gets there. I was there about noon. While I was in the store (about 10 minutes) they probably had 10 phone calls, all of them were about the hats.

    I feel bad about this. I bought these tickets from Blancofan1 earlier this week, but a semi-emergency has come up for Saturday afternoon and I'm not going to be able to make the game. Rather than craigslist them and have them wind up in the hands of Cub fans, I thought the right thing to do would be to offer them up here for the price I paid, which was their marquee face value of $35 per ticket. With the parking pass, it is $150 total. Seats are Section 229, Row 15, Seats 15-18 (on the aisle). I can deliver today or tomorrow.

    Just home from the game, the team showed more emotion than I've seen all year - even before the walk-off. Braun's 1st inning shot really fired them up. Even the crowd was pretty good - into the game, minimal booing (save Mota) - its amazing what giveaway towels will do. It sounds crazy, but I think this team is going to the playoffs. And for the first time this month, it looks like they think they're going.

    I think it depends on who else they think they can get. I hope they don't settle on one person (Sveum or otherwise) and make a hire without interviewing multiple candidates. Regardless of how they finish, I think Sveum will be a candidate.

    I've waited this long, what's another 10 days? This team has beaten me up, exhausted me and I really don't know what I have left to give. I just keep telling myself that its still possible, that I might just see playoff baseball at Miller Park. Last year, I passed up playoff tickets in Denver, saying I wasn't going to the playoff until I could see my own team. I'm not going back on that now. I thought about digging up the Brokeback Mountain "I wish I knew how to quit you" picture, but frankly I'm just too tired.

    I hope its NOT just a precautionary thing. Sheets probably leads the league in "appearances ending in cautionary removal." What are we being cautious about? If he's hurt, fine. But if I hear tomorrow morning that he's not going to miss a start, that this was just "tightness" I'm going to be pissed. He's a thought - stretch a little better and you won't get tight.

    I have two for Sunday in the right field bleachers that I can't use. Section 102, Row 6 (this gets you a few seats from the visitor's bullpen). Parking pass included. I'm going out of town tonight, so I will leave the tickets at the Season Ticket Holder Service window and trust that you'll pay me either in person next week sometime or just send me the money. PM an offer.
