  1. I realize that. I guess I just surprised that no one else questioned this, especially since he seems to be making a sizable profit ($1000+) from this. Maybe I'm just old school - You want the giveaway, you buy a ticket and go to the game.
  2. At no point was Milwaukee the "likely choice." I'll admit that the murder didn't help Milwaukee's profile, but MC was looking at a neutral site from day 1.
  3. How are you getting these? You clearly have some sort of hook-up (and are profiting nicely from it), but with nearly 20 inquiries here alone, you've reduced the number given away in the intended manner by nearly 10%. Or am I missing something?
  4. Ugh... I'm a God fearin' hard workin' combine driver Hoggin' up the road on my p-p-p-p-plower Chug a lug a luggin' 5 miles an hour On my International Harvester I don't know where this even came from, or who is to blame, but I'm looking in your direction Corey Hart.
  5. I think this was the best-case scenario for Milwaukee, actually. From nearly the beginning of the JV, MillerCoors made not-too-veiled statements about moving to a neutral site to avoid the sense of one Denver or Milwaukee "winning." I'd much prefer Chicago to Dallas. MC has already announced they're plowing $50MM into upgrading and expanding the Milwaukee brewery, which will produce beer at levels not seen since the '70s. Chicago is also close enough that some of the relocated employees might stay in Milwaukee and commute. This is becoming more common in this area. Its widely believed that Chicago offered $20MM in tax subsidies. Milwaukee is said to have made an offer (though I'm sure not that aggressive), but was told early on in the process that Milwaukee and Denver were not realistic candidates.
  6. I know Russ has posted diagrams of the velocity on Sheets' pitches over the course of a start. Can we get the same data for Harden for his last start vs. one earlier in the season?
  7. Baseball Prospectus thinks Shapiro pulled the trigger too quickly.
  8. If you're confident they'll say yes, I say ask after you order. That way you can have a nice, relaxing dinner. Maybe they'll be so excited they'll even pick up the check.
  9. She's no Jill Sobule, that's for sure.
  10. If he's that good now, he'll clearly be regressing to the mean by 2019.
  11. 3 @ Arizona (1-2) 3 vs. Pittsburgh (3-0) 4 vs. Colorado (2-2) 3 vs. Cincinatti (2-1) (All Star Break) 3 @ San Fransisco (2-1) 4 @ St. Louis (1-3) 3 vs. Houston (2-1) 4 vs. Chicago (3-1) 16-11
  12. David Original or David reduced salt. I can chew the low-salt variety all day without the inside of my cheek swelling up. They taste just as good as the original.
  13. If you're looking for "easier" camping (especially if you have kids), Peninsula State Park is a good option.
  14. MLB and StubHub are in a partnership where StubHub provides all the resale on official MLB websites. MLB does some marketing for the service.

  16. My son is 1 1/2, he loves John Coltrane. He goes to sleep to it every night. We've tried to stay away from "kid music" so he's heard a lot of Indigo Girls, Counting Crows, etc.
  17. I have a bigger problem with this post about attendance. Brewers on pace for record attendance Through 29 games of its home schedule, the Brewers have drawn an average of 33,594 fans per game. Attendance to date is 974,231. . . The franchise attendance record was set last year, when 2,869,144 fans flocked to Miller Park. 33,594 per game comes out to 2,721,114 for the year, well short of a record. Given the schedule and the fact that kids are now out of school, there's no doubt that there is decent chance of record attendance, but to say the club is "on pace for record attendance" is not a factual statement.
