  1. This is what I think we'll see. I noticed Thames on his first K, a called strike right down the middle, he walked very gingerly back to the dugout. I don't think they'll mess around with a groin, that's almost always a week or two (miniumum), and really easy to aggravate.
  2. Yeah, I didn't get all the way down to the pavement yesterday either. And you know what, I'm fine with that. I'm over winter.
  3. This is my issue with the team - why not use the 10-day DL? Pina is the perfect example, they could have brought up a catcher without any 40-man roster moves. Even if Nottingham doesn't start at all, he'd be available to pinch hit. Isn't one AB in the spot where Chacin hit the other day worth the risk that Pina would be out 10 days but ready in 8?
  4. Unless you decide to stop being a cheapass owner and chip in a little for a roof on the stadium that taxpayers paid hundreds of millions of dollars for.
  5. And, if you decide to try to Uber back, note that there is a dedicated pickup lot in the Gantner lot (across the Sausage Haus bridge, to the right).
  6. The other advantage of the Bluemound shuttles is that you can walk back there post-game if the shuttle pickup lot is a cluster (spoiler alert, it always is).
  7. We're two weeks into the season, and I'm pretty sure I never want to eat at Pizza Ranch, just because of that dumb commercial with Craig Coshun that airs nearly every half inning on the TV broadcast.
  8. I think he's just slumping a bit. When he was really off (and hurt) a couple years ago, he wasn't pulling anything. This year, he's smoked balls to center and to right. I'm confident he'll come around.
  9. I'm not picking on you, as I see this all the time, but why does everyone think Sedar is so bad? Yes, guys get thrown out at the plate, but if you never have anyone thrown out, you're not sending enough runners. Someone did a study on this (fangraphs or 538, maybe?) which confirmed that there's a balance between sending too many guys and not enough which involved making some outs at home. The Brewers run the contact play with a runner on third more than I'd like, but that's not on Sedar. I assume this is just like every other team (nearly everyone hates their third base coach) mixed with the sky-is-falling nature of a lot of posts here when the team is struggling.
  10. I think there were several teams that had home openers yesterday, and for those teams without domes, I think MLB generally schedules an off day to use for a possible Opening Day rainout.
  11. Giddy up! This is going to be a fun team to watch. It's going to be weird opening on the road after so many home Opening Days. I feel like I might have to find a parking lot to drink in tomorrow morning!
  12. It goes without saying, but even despite an interesting off-season on this board, I'm fairly certain this is the only Brewer forum with this level of sophistication!
  13. If they need someone (and to this point they're at least saying they're staying with in-house options), they should just sign Mark Reynolds. For 6-8 weeks at minimal cost, he'd be perfect.
  14. I'm mostly impressed that Vince Clortho is able to chat with Jeff Sullivan. #keymaster
  15. I know it's not from the movie, but that picture made me think of something similar. Maybe Ted Rydquist is Keyser Soze?
  16. Aguilar is not getting Pazos. There is a glut of 1Bs available, and Aguilar is a guy who only plays 1B, needs a platoon partner (for the big half, no less), isn't great defensively, and is out of options. And everyone knows he has no spot in Milwaukee if Braun works out at 1B. This has "cash considerations" written all over it.
  17. Why would Pittsburgh do that?
  18. I would think something has to happen soon. Spring Training for pitchers is pretty regimented in terms of getting stretched out, in shape, and on schedule to start the season. I know there is talk of a free agent spring training at one of the agent's complexes, but I can't see pitchers staying there too long. This staring contest has to end at some point.
  19. Won't you have room for 2 of Perez, Broxton, Phillips, Aguilar? 13 Ps, 8 position starters, backup C, 1 of Thames, Braun, Yelich, Cain, Santana. I think it will be Perez plus either Phillips or Keon, mostly depending on how much they value BP playing everyday in AAA vs. having him as another left-handed bat on the bench. Hard to find ABs for Aguilar at this point.
  20. This whole focus on time of game is dumb. Baseball games are already shorter than NFL or NCAA football games, and shaving a couple minutes off a 3 hour event isn't significant. If baseball really wanted to shorten games, they'd reduce the time spent in between innings. But god forbid anyone should lose advertising revenue.
  21. Got surprisingly good opening day seats online this morning. Apparently those rumors about limited OD tickets weren’t entirely accurate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. A lot of teams now practice "file & trial." Once they get to the point where they exchange numbers, there is no more negotiation. I believe the Brewers do this, I'm sure Agent39 could provide more insight.
  23. Really, you're that sure about a 28-year old who has ~100 innings above AA?
  24. Maybe HighHeat19 is really Shea Vucinich and his recent cutting off of information is the ultimate slow-play revenge for never getting his picture in that article!
