  1. My stat of the day..... No Brewer relief pitcher has recorded a win since May 10th, a span of 36 games.
  2. Here is the official release listing all 11: milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com...p&c_id=mil
  3. Program alert, the game is now on ESPN.
  4. Boy, when I was a kid, Bozo and the Ray Rayner show were the greatest.
  5. Wow, Moeller is leading off the next Brewer inning, and I just realized that his OPS is now over .400! He is smokin' hot!
  6. Wow, the Yanks have some stellar outfield defense going tonight.
  7. It's really incredible that anyone tries to take any kind of a lead against Cappy, isn't it?
  8. I believe that is the first time that a team has passed on a pick in the history of the draft. Back when the number of draft rounds were unlimited this used to happen all the time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry Kat, I meant since the draft went to 50 rounds. My bad.
  9. Wes Helms reminds me of Roberto Duran. Ya know, "Hands of Stone."
  10. Tonight I might be most intrigued by watching Ruben "High" Sierra play left field.
  11. The Athletics declined to take a 39th rounder... what the heck? They're done. I believe that is the first time that a team has passed on a pick in the history of the draft.
  12. When the Braddock pick was announced by the Brewers' guy, he said Zack Braddock. William must be his official first name, but he goes by Zack. If he doesn't lose "Zach" and start going by Billy, so I can refer to him as Billy "Crash" Braddock, I'll be crushed. Also, wanted to point out that Jon Mueller, 16th round selection by the Cubs, is a La Crosse, WI native and graduate of my alma mater, La Crosse Logan.
  13. Riley Kjeldgaard certainly is the early favorite for the cool name award Right up there with Sebastien Vendette.
  14. My stat of the day: Everyone knows the Brewers woes with runners in scoring position. Their BA w/RISP currently stands at .227, 11 points lower than the 2nd to last place team. But what nobody talks about is how awesome the Brewers are with a man on first base. They are the leaders of MLB in BA w/ a runner on first, hitting a robust .318, with an OBP of .371 and a SP of .467.
  15. I know this is in the wrong place, but did I read somewhere that Inman (3rd rounder) signed? If so, where is the info?
  16. "Not much offensively"? He had a career OPS+ of 69, with only one year when he was above average and one other when he was close. Most of the time he was one of the worst hitters in the league. But he had one of the all-time great baseball cards. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. It's clear why things have not gone well for Milwaukee today, after seeing Laurel Prieb sitting in row one right behind the plate. Laurel, take your bad karma and go back to Arizona!
  18. Helms should start tomorrow. End, you beat me to it. With the team struggling to score runs like the Brewers are, it doesn't make any sense not to start Helms at third, as he has been hot lately. His OPS is approaching .900, while JC's is approaching .700. Time to make that switch.
  19. C.J. Medlin homered this afternoon in his first AB of game 1 of BC's doubleheader. Is there any way he could put up worse numbers than Moeller? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. Some random thoughts and stats......... The 2005 Brewers have scored 207 runs and allowed 176, for a run differential of +31. There are only 3 NL teams better than that St. Louis, Atlanta, and Florida. Last season through 46 games they had scored 218 and allowed 221, for a differential of -3. Yet they had a better record (24-22 vs. 23-23). In 2004, the best run differential the Brewers had at any point came after game #75. At that point they were +21 and sported a 41-34 record, the high water mark for the season. Considering this year's team has scored 11 fewer runs and allowed 45 fewer runs than last year's team, I can't help but feel like they should be more like 26-20 right now instead of 23-23.
  21. You know Scoop, Ned's family is in Atlanta now. You don't suppose your wife and Ned are consulting on the sly? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. FYI, my rally chow this evening is Act II Kettle Corn with a Pepsi One. I will follow this up by falling asleep on the couch around the 4th inning, thereby assuring the Brewers will put up a crooked number.
  23. I kind of like the lineup changes. I'm not sold on Miller in the 2 hole, but I like the flip-flop of Jenks and Overbay. By the way, I'm going out on a limb and saying that JJ gets on at least twice tonight.
  24. Brewers '04 vs. '05 2004 2005 Record 7-8 5-10 Runs scored 73 66 Runs allowed 83 65
