  1. Brewers currently have 98.6% odds of winning the division per Fangraphs. If they split the next two games that probably would increase to closer to 99%. That's pretty much almost impossible. Fangraphs calculates these odds by running 20,000 simulations based on ROS projections for individual players and playing time. If Brewers split the next two they would have an 8 game lead with 21 games remaining and a magic number of 14. If the Brewers went 10-11 to finish the year the Cubs would need to go 18-3 to tie the Brewers in the standings. I'd consider those odds almost impossible.
  2. I can't recall saying anything other than Ewing had much better underlying numbers than Lara at the time. I don't think I ever opined that Ewing was rightfully/wrongfully called up.
  3. Not counting tonight I'm going to go 12-11. They get the franchise record in wins with 98 but come up short of 100 in part because they take their foot off the gas a bit in the last 10 days of the season.
  4. Feel like Brewers also might be off the gas pedal by the end of the month though that probably depends on how close the Braves and Dodgers stay in the race for the bye. The last two years they have gone 13-13 and 12-13 in September.
  5. Hate to say it but might kiss him being in the Brewers org goodbye as well. He still has another option year but he'll be 33 this offseason with his velo seemingly gone. I think he's a likely non-tender candidate
  6. I’ve noticed the same since he came off the IL. Part of me speculates that he isn’t feeling as healthy as he’s letting on and that’s why it looks like he’s laboring so much more out on the mound.
  7. Coop hitting a HR was cool though now we can't use a position player this inning lol
  8. If you hit Ortiz for Hamilton then Yelich needs to play in the field when you use a position player to pitch next inning which will never happen
  9. This offense is just not built to have success in this type of environment. Wind blowing out and the Cubs have 11 batted balls over 20 LA while the Brewers have 0. The 25-35 LA range is the sweet spot on a night like tonight. Cubs have 6 batted balls in that range for a single and 5 HR. The Brewers have zero.
  10. Harrison just isn't a postseason starter anymore. His FB velo is gone which makes his FB mediocre.
  11. I guess it's just a matter of semantics then. I wouldn't consider someone who only made it to A ball in the Brewers org as a former Brewer/Brewers castoff.
  12. Thielbar was never a Brewer. Maybe you have him mixed up with Milner who they just released.
  13. I definitely think he is. Trainers came out last night when he was on the mound and he clearly looked somewhat labored. Roster wise it makes much more sense to have just optioned Anderson again for Uribe than put Wilson on the IL.
  14. Hopefully Harrison’s velo continues to trend up like it did in his last start and he’s sitting more 94-96 tonight than 93-94. With the wind blowing out finding the swing and miss with his fastball again could be crucial to having a good outing
  15. He’s seriously toned down the chase since he made a change to his batting stance. Since June 1st he only has a 31% chase rate which is still pretty high but nowhere near high enough to just throw him junk outside of the zone and him consistently get out.
  16. Yeah Lara has hit the ball on much better angles in MLB. Would that be the same if they rushed him up in early May like you wanted?
  17. You need a 4th SP in the NLDS this year as well. The AL gets the extra day off the the DS round this year.
  18. Pretty hilarious managing to let Frelick hit against a LHP with the tying run on base and then an inning later pinch hit Vaughn for Hamilton to leadoff the inning down 3 runs
  19. He had one nice foul off on the backdoor sweeper that barely clipped the top of zone but I don't think the takes to get to 3 balls were all that difficult. Two changeups that were well below the zone and a FB that was way above the zone. I think to consider that anywhere near a good AB you'd have to be grading with a huge curve. I wouldn't say it was a bad AB but outside of the fouled off sweeper in the 1-2 count I think it was a pretty meh AB.
  20. Feel like an AB where you chase ball four two straight pitches in a 3-2 count cannot be considered a good AB
