  1. For an 18 year old he has seemed extremely composed and confident on the mound.
  2. Wichrowski is starting for Biloxi on Friday per Javik.
  3. So TJ Shook is listed as the SP for Biloxi tomorrow. Previously the order had been Misiorowski-Blalock-Woessner-Shook-Peterson. Woessner is not listed as a SP for Biloxi at all this week. Are we officially on Woessner promotion watch or maybe nursing a small injury?
  4. Straight from the rulebook, "If a batter strikes at a ball and misses and swings so hard he carries the bat all the way around and ,in the umpire's judgment, unintentionally hits the catcher or ball in the back of him on the backswing, it shall be called a strike only (not interference). The ball will be dead, however, and no runner shall advance on the play" It's very cut and dry. The umps made the right call.
  5. It doesn't matter. Once the bat hits the catcher in the head the play is dead so no runners can advance.
  6. Look at my comment right above yours. 3 times Judge sliding into 2B legging out a double. All 3 times he raises his arm, but doesn't fully extend the hand up in the air. Raising his left arm seems to be part of his natural slide, but the full hand extension in the air seems to be entirely to distract the turn at 2B.
  7. Judge absolutely slides into 2B with his hand straight up to distract the 2B. Here's video of him sliding feet first into 2B while legging out doubles. Notice the left arm stays up, but he doesn't fully extend the hand in the air like he did yesterday and in all the other instances of a double play ball.
  8. That wouldn't make sense. You don't dive back into a base with your left hand. You do it with your right hand because you want to be towards the OF side of first base not the homepate side of first base.
  9. Luke Adams having a pretty good day!
  10. Tyler Black with a 2 HR game. Although I think it's worth noting that the baseball seems to carry way more in AAA. I don't think 98.8 EV, 30 LA is carrying 380 in the MLB.
  11. Hall and Adams can co-exist on the same team, so I'm not understanding the dilemma. Hall plays 1B 4 times a week and DH's twice. Adams plays 3B 4 times a week and plays 1B twice. Where's the issue?
  12. Adams is a fresh 20 year old who has been playing through a nagging injury. He has a 12% BB-rate, 20% K-rate, 7.5% swinging strike rate, 99 wRC+. I feel like people are just looking at his batting average and assuming it’s all terrible. People are talking about him like he’s been Jesus Chirinos. That’s someone who has actually been really bad.
  13. Luke Adams has been an above league average hitter at A+. Why should he be demoted to Carolina?
  14. Honestly if we are talking about bringing up the best bat at AAA, Isaac Collins is probably the guy not Brewer Hicklen. Collins' surface and underlying numbers are both much better than Hicklen's.
  15. It was an inside the park HR on a play that Nicasia slipped on. Probably would have been a double/triple if it Nicasia didn't slip.
  16. Yeah and I'm also a possible replacement.
  17. Turang is hitting the ball harder this year. His average EV is up from 85.5 to 89.5 but he's not doing it from increasing the top end of his EV which is what EV50 measures. He's just making weak contact a lot less so far this year. Personally my favorite change with Turang this year is that he's hitting the ball on the ground more and that contact has basically entirely come from pop ups being eliminated. 2023 vs 2024 batted ball distribution GB% - 42.5 vs 53.5 FB% - 25.1 vs 23.9 LD% - 24.1 vs 21.1 PU% - 8.3 vs 1.4 You take a guy like Turang and you remove all those pop ups for more hard hit grounders and you have a dramatically better hitter.
  18. Janson Junk was originally listed as the starter for Nashville today. It's now Nick Bennett. Have a feeling Junk will be up for Koenig today to give the Brewers an innings eater in the back of the pen.
  19. Unfortunately for Koenig he very well might get shuttled tomorrow. He's thrown 3 times in 4 days now for a total of 5 innings and 72 total pitches. You're probably looking at 2 days of him being unavailable now at least.
  20. Yeah I wasn't a fan of the bunt either especially because Wiemer was behind Ortiz. I'm pretty shocked New York didn't pitch around Ortiz trying to get a chase out of him to set up a Wiemer GIDP or a strikeout.
  21. Honestly think he should get promoted to AAA when Gasser gets added to the MLB rotation. He's been in AA for 200 innings now and has improved at a steady rate to the point where he's just a good AA pitcher now.
  22. Knoth loads the bases with 3 BB in the 2nd inning then pitches out of it 2 strikeouts and a flyball to just short of the warning track in LF. 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO. Might be done for the day.
  23. Losing Gutierrez doesn't sting at all.
