  1. I think this is always how Freddy wants to pitch. The issue is his command comes and goes on his secondary pitches too much which can force him at times to rely too much on his FB.
  2. 4 run leads suck. Feels like more often than not you just end up blowing 2 relievers because the low leverage guy chokes the game into a save situation.
  3. I've also been thinking this as well. Brewers should clear out a decent amoung of salary this offseason with non-tenders and FA, so they might have a bit of money to get a FA bat and hopefully another year of experience for the kids lets them be more impactful next season. Winker - $8.25M Lauer - $5.08M Tellez - $4.95M Urias - $4.7M? Feel unsure of what the future holds for him Anderson - $3.5M Miley - $3.5M Ruf - $3M Caratini - $2.8M? Brewers might consider retaining him as a backup catcher Hiura- $2.2M Voit - $2M Teheran - $1.5M Brosseau - $1.4M That's about $43M that could come off the books this offseason. I don't think the arb raises will come close to reaching that number which should leave the Brewers some room to bring in a bat or 2.
  4. Here are the current xwOBA overperformers (minimum 100 PA) on the Brewers Miller - 307 PA, .297 wOBA vs .287 xwOBA Perkins - 128 PA, .286 wOBA vs .268 xwOBA Monasterio - 107 PA, .339 wOBA vs .320 xwOBA
  5. Devanney got off to a slow start after an injured preseason and late season start. Since the middle of May Devanney is slashing .285/.383/.518 with a 13% BB-rate and 12% K-rate for a 122 wRC+. He also is much better and more versatile defensively than Jones and absolutely crushes LHP.
  6. The problem is where are the promotions from A+ to AA. Just not a lot of guys in Wisconsin who have earned promotions. Martinez has absolutely earned it. I guess you could also push Hall, Miller, Ward, JGJ, Acosta just based on age and how long they have been at A+ but it's just been a mostly underwhelming group at A+ this season.
  7. Totally agree with everything you said here but Yophery turns 18 in December so just off on his age.
  8. Initially I was mad at the send until I remembered Jones was up next.
  9. We drafted Riggio out of HS in 2021 and he was just drafted out of college this year
  10. Watts is committed to Auburn and he's only 1 year removed from HS so I think he needs to play there for 2 years before entering the draft again? Maybe not. Don't understand how that works.
  11. I don't know what Tyrone is still doing on the active roster if he's not going to play against a LHP. They must be trying like hell to trade him for even a lottery ticket because he's basically a waste of a roster space right now.
  12. Big sigh of relief. Makes sense to IL him so they can get Lopez back on the active roster. Hopefully he only misses a week and is firing on all cylinders once he returns.
  13. Yes 18 of 21. Gholston (HS), Watts (JUCO), and Morton (HS) were the only 3 not to sign.
  14. Not much info on him. LHP recovering from TJ. Threw around 93 with his FB before surgery. 6'3 190lbs so very ideal SP build. I'm also surprised he went for as much as he did. Brewers must really like his arm.
  15. 3 multi-inning guys is total overkill. We are fine with Bryse Wilson and Rea/Houser once Miley/Woodruff are back in the rotation.
  16. Re-stock the farm? Our farm is the best it has been in ages.
  17. Yophery with another HR. 4-6 today with a 2B and 2 HR
  18. Trading Peguero to bring Suter back. Equally gross.
  19. 122 wRC+ is certainly nice but Jimenez can’t play in the field without getting hurt and he’s terrible when he’s out there. So he’s pretty exclusively a DH and 2 players you’re comparing him to are elite defensive players at SS and 3B . The contract is fair but it’s not some bargain that gives him a bunch of trade value and putting Jimenez in vicinity of a guy like Robert is super disingenuous.
  20. So Yophery Rodriguez is definitely the next Brewers international prospect that is going to get a lot of prospect helium, right? After today's game he is slashing .280/.436/.492 with a 21.2% BB-rate and a 15.4% K-rate with like 145-150 wRC+ and his swing is just buttery smooth.
  21. I think it's less slow bat speed and more super long swing.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if he bulks up this offseason and makes the opening day roster. Chourio is about the best chance we have of getting the 1st round pick for having the ROTY
  23. That's exciting. He has a beautiful swing and the Midwest HS guys a lot of the time seem to be undervalued/late bloomers.
  24. 2nd time today we have posted virtually identical things at the same time haha
