    Yeah I thought he was looking solid at first just with some unfortunate batted ball luck. I wonder if he has started to press a bit too much with the bad results trying to force a break out. Honestly I didn't think today was all that bad from him. He hit a nice liner that Kiermaier made a good play on and in another AB he hit a ball HR distance but just foul. Surely he can't keep hitting this poorly for much longer. Something has to give because he's not this bad.

    Coming into today he had a 72 ERA-...that seems quite good. That's 21st among qualified SP and that's only going up after today.

    I seriously wonder if the Brewers just rushed him back too soon because of all the OF injuries and Perkins looking so overwhelmed in the MLB. He didn't have any spring training and only played 5 rehab assignment games in AAA. He's never been an amazing player but he's also never looked this bad for this long before.

    Amazing that Burnes has an 84 ERA- and 105 FIP- and there have been 2 SP that have been bigger disappointments than him this season.

    The Carolina Mudcats are a very enjoyable team to watch.

    These umps for the Mudcats game are looking incredibly incompetent. Misiorowski has been squeezed at least 3-4 times in the first inning. There was a blown caught stealing. The umps almost let a guy who clearly hit a flyout stay on 2B acting like he hit a double.

    Yeah he was out and that wasn't even close.

    Wow a Lynchburg hitter finally swung the bat. Took until a 3-2 count in the third AB for them to swing.

    Unlikely considering Corbin Burnes is pitching basically the exact same way he did last season with a virtually identical pitch mix.

    Timber Rattlers started the month of May with an 8 game losing streak. Since then they are 8-10 and that is with a 6-game sweep against Quad Cities. Feels like they are trending in the right direction. I was talking with @Smichaelis9 yesterday and we both think Wisconsin could be a good team in the second half with some pitching upgrades coming from Carolina (Misiorowski, Henderson, Rudy, Peterson). I don't know how the roster is going to work though because none of the current Wisconsin pitchers look close to a promotion.

    He mishandled a high chopper and then rushed his throw. Fielding error allowed the runner to reach 1st base and then throwing error allowed to the runner to advance to 2B. His defense for the large part has looked good. He has a passable arm for SS and has good range. Just seems like a consistency problem at this point.

    Will be interesting to see what they do. They had been piggybacking Jimenez and Hernandez so I could see Hernandez coming in to start the 6th (assuming he is healthy, I think he left his last appearance with an injury)

    That was a great AB from Gray Jr. Kind of bummed it didn't end with a positive outcome, but going from 0-2 down to an 11 pitch AB is impressive. He also had a couple of well hit foul balls down the LF line.

    The second solo shot was just ridiculous. Shoulder high FB that the dude just tomahawked out of the park to LF.

    Robert Gasser absolutely shoved today. 7 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 SO. 57% zone rate (by far his best this season). This is the guy we saw after the trade deadline last season.

    Adames was on the rail. He also wasn't really paying attention that closely (although I'm not sure that would have made a difference). Here's a video of it.

    In market Padres fans that have MLB.tv cannot watch the Padres games. You need to sign up for a specific individual package to watch their games.

    Reese Olson making his MLB debut for the Tigers this week. (Anyone know what Daniel Norris is doing these days?) Wish him luck but will always regret trading him away for Norris.

    Gasser is cruising so far. He gave up a hard hit single off the wall in LF but that has been his only baserunner through 3 innings.

    Think that's probably the win of the season so far. Coming back from being down 6-0 through 6 innings is an incredible feat.

    Joe Gray Jr just said "HECK NO" to the Cardinals devil magic that Peoria was trying to pull off.

    This ump is criminal. Stole a strike 3 from him in the next AB as well. Thankfully Uribe took it into his own hands with a K-swinging.
