  1. I think it would be a lot more likely if either were Rule 5 eligible this offseason. The fact that neither of them are makes me think they would be last resort type options.
  2. Regardless of how aggressive the Brewers get they still are going to only be second best in the NL on paper behind the Dodgers. The Dodgers are run just as well as the Brewers but with three times as much money. The Brewers are always going to be David facing Goliath so they want to get as many chances as they can at beating Goliath. It hasn't worked out so far but that doesn't mean it won't in the future.
  3. I'd like one more leverage arm in the pen preferably a LHP or a RHP with more neutral splits like Megill. I just don't trust Ashby in high leverage. He's been poor in leverage this year and he's been horrible when the lights are brightest in postseason. But I think the Brewers do have plenty of arms to make things interesting in the pen with a more pitching chaos type strategy.
  4. I imagine some of this getting better stuff is that you're still feeling out the roster and roles in the first half while in the second half you're not only adding at the trade deadline but also more likely to have guys in more defined roles. Improvement on the pitching side might be tough to see but if Sproat and say Drohan shift into the bullpen with a SP addition or two at the deadline you could see the pitching overall take a step forward. Misiorowski, Harrison, Henderson, Drohan, Sproat to Misiorowski, Harrison, Henderson, Trade, Trade. Just getting Sproat and his 123 ERA- and 120 FIP- out of the rotation could improve the rotation and then you have Sproat who has a 3.11 ERA and 4.00 FIP first time through the order in the bullpen where he would be an upgrade over the Woodford/Anderson part of the pen. Drohan's 2.95 ERA and 3.26 FIP first time through the order would be an upgrade over what our second best LHP in the pen has been giving us this year.
  5. The second round pick they bought this year was also used on a Klutch client lol
  6. I could have sworn it said Gold was winning earlier but maybe I misread it. They lose 4-1 in a weather shortened 8 inning game
  7. Looks like both Smith and Havard were working out with Tread. Here's a twitter thread on Smith
  8. Looking like a DSL sweep today with both teams in the lead in the 8th inning with a lightning delay
  9. If they carry over their rankings from the draft board, Strosnider at 55 will be ranked between 2 and 7 on the list. Ebel at 45 will be between 11 and 21 on the list.
  10. Apologies if this has been asked but did Will Rudy have a set back? I thought he was supposed to be back by this point
  11. Nice to see Frontado back in the lineup these last two games. Don’t think it’s a coincidence that the Blue Crew’s slide started when he was injured.
  12. I think it's pretty clear the Bucks had some sort of handshake agreement with GTJ last offseason and didn't want to tear up that agreement with one of the most powerful agents in the NBA. It's the only sensible explanation for GTJ getting that contract after the year he just had.
  13. They have fallen behind first in 7 of the 10 games on this road trip. Pretty incredible be to 6-4 on the trip so far when you're constantly falling behind.
  14. I'd love for someone to ask Murphy why Yelich and Turang are immune from being pinch hit for but Bauers whose been way better hitting than them continues to get hit for.
  15. One of our best hitters didn't come to the plate in the first inning rally because he's stuck hitting 6th so Yelich can be leadoff. It's just a huge joke.
  16. It's literally a joke and an insult to keep hitting Yelich leadoff. One of the worst hitters on the team.
  17. The thing I don't like about that inning is just give Ashby the start of the inning or give Patrick the inning. I don't like the bring the reliever back out for one hitter and then bring in the new one. Ashby came in with a runner on base instead of a fresh inning. I would have preferred to see Patrick face Mangum though. Mangum is a very heavy ground ball hitter and has the highest oppo ground ball rate in the league. Him hitting a ground ball through the big hole on the right side was very predictable. If you keep Patrick in then you're much more likely to turn an oppo ground ball into an out or even a double play
  18. I just wish Murphy would stop being stubborn and admit Yelich isn't who he used to be. He's clearly deteriorating athletically. That bunt that he was thrown out on today would have been an easy single for him as recently as a year ago.
  19. I appreciate the effort from the "captain" conceding the final out of the game instead of trying to get in a run down
  20. Ashby has been horrible on the road this year. They showed the splits earlier but my goodnes it's glaring. Home - 1.99 ERA, 2.25 FIP, 3.10 xFIP, 34% K-rate, 12% BB-rate Road - 4.70 ERA, 4.32 FIP, 3.76 xFIP, 25% K-rate, 13% BB-rate And those road numbers are before today so they are going to be even worse.
  21. It's concerning for me how much Yelich has deteriorated athletically in one year. He's getting throw out at 1B comfortably on plays he would have easily been safe on a year ago.
  22. Something tells me Brandon Sproat is not going to be in this rotation post trade deadline
  23. Bauers has probably become too valuable to use as our position player pitcher. I wonder who it would be if they used one this year.
