  1. Zavier Warren just hit a laser beam out of the park down the RF line. Had to touch down maybe 3 seconds after he made contact.
  2. That opposite field power is something else and on a FB above the belt as well.
  3. He cleared waivers. We signed him as a FA so all we owe him is the prorated minimum when he gets added to the 26 man roster
  4. Teheran with a rough 2nd inning giving up a lot of quality contact against. Sounds now down 4-3 after 2.
  5. Monte Harrison just hit an absolute nuke of a HR. 111 EV bomb well over the blue monster in LF. Tyler Black having a rough day though with 2 strikeouts on 6 pitches with 4 swings and misses
  6. The hitting environment in game 1 of this doubleheader is crazy difficult because of the shadows. A lot of bad AB in the 1st inning for both teams.
  7. Yes Rea was originally listed as starter of game 2 tonight and Caleb Boushley is not listed as game 2 starter. Definitely seems like Rea is getting the start on Saturday.
  8. Tyler Black's batted ball metrics in AAA this year. Avg EV - 85.9 Sweet spot % - 21.3% Barrel % - 4.9% (1 of the 3 barrels was off a position player) Hard hit % - 23.0% Josh Donaldson's MLB batted ball metrics this year. Avg EV - 92.8 Sweet spot % - 25.0% Barrel % - 19.7% Hard hit % - 51.3% I don't at all think it's safe to suggest Black who has had horrible batted ball metrics in AAA would be a better MLB hitter than Donaldson who has put up great batted ball metrics in the MLB this year
  9. He's staying with the White Sox
  10. Yeah career high was 119 last year and he’s at 144 now. 5-6 more starts and you could be 50-60 innings over his career high before the playoffs even start.
  11. Plus by the time WC weekend rolls around Steele will be 50+ innings over his career high IP.
  12. Really hope the game doesn't come down to 2 runners that scored after reaching on a BS walk and HBP that missed the strike zone by 2 inches. The BB and HBP
  13. Tough AB for Canha getting pitches off the edge that if you know you don't swing at it will be called a strike so forced into swinging at low positive outcome pitches.
  14. Does Frelick swing at the 1-1 changeup if it's 2-0? Does he even get a changeup in that situation?
  15. Absolutely pathetic umpiring. Every single call has gone the Cubs way so far and it's nearing on 8+ calls in 2 innings.
  16. Unfortunately the batted ball data really isn't trending up at all. The results have gotten better in the last 2 weeks but that isn't from improved batted ball numbers. Here are his batted ball numbers over the last 2 weeks taking out the HR against the position player. Avg EV - 86.2 Sweet Spot % - 28.2% Barrel % - 5.1% Hard HIt % - 23.1% Negative LA + LA over 40 - 21 of 39 (53.8%) All of those numbers are still really poor and the only number that's really seen any improvement is the sweet spot % which is still a poor number.
  17. Hendricks gets up 0-2 on 2 pitches that were balls for Woodruff last inning. ROBOT UMPS!
  18. Woodruff throws 3 strikes in a 5 pitch walk then Hoerner gets to dip his elbow into a pitch barely off the strike zone for a HBP. What a joke.
  19. Still not in love with the idea of promoting Black to get a majority of AB at 3B. His batted ball data has been horrific in AAA. Average EV of 85.9, Sweet Spot % of 21.3%, Barrel% of 4.9%, Hard Hit % of 23.0%. 39 of his 61 batted balls (63.9%) have either had a negative LA or a LA above 40.
  20. You're funny. Edit: It took me 16.82 seconds to go from this page to the page that got me that FB% stat. 16.82 seconds shouldn't be a too significant amount of time for a poster to verify their doom and gloom thought before posting.
  21. Yes Hendricks pitched well against the Brewers in July but look at the lineup today compared to that day. That day we had Winker, pre-IL stint Tellez, Miller, Perkins, Wiemer. Those 5 hitters have been replaced by Santana, healthy Tellez, Monasterio, Canha, Frelick. Brewers are putting a much better lineup out there today than Hendricks saw in July
  22. Since so much doom and gloom has already filled up this thread before the game has even started, I would like to point out that the Brewers active roster has a .340 xwOBA against Hendricks compared to their .288 wOBA. They are due.
  23. Brewers active roster FB% is 36.1% which is 25th in the MLB but hey too geared to hit fly balls
  24. Interesting considering he's never had a double digit strikeout game in his 32 career games against the Brewers
