  1. Homer in me says it was a swing but I don't think it was an egregious missed call. Definitely more of a 50-50
  2. I think Vaughn is pretty likely to be back next year in his final year of arb.
  3. The Brewers have done this numerous times. 2021 - Adames in May, Tellez in early July 2024 - Civale in early July 2025 - Priester in April Like you said it also takes two to tango and right now there are only 7 teams more than 3,5 games out of a playoff spot and of those 7 teams, 5 came into the season with some intention of competing (Detroit, Boston, Kansas City, NYM, San Francisco)
  4. I think Akil Baddoo might have just torn his achilles
  5. Anyone else think this is a very generous triple ruling for Harper to get his cycle?
  6. I think age does matter but with Adams I'm not really sure it matters as much. He's already pretty maxed out physically so I don't think you can project more bat speed or raw power and he doesn't have any glaring holes in his game that you could project might improve as he gets older. I think he mostly just is what he is and what he always has been in the minor leagues and that's a RHH 1B with a low BA and high OBP that is very reliant on HBP to boost up.
  7. For me it's RHH 1B only profile with average to slightly above average raw power and extreme passiveness at the plate. It's also a profile that has relied heavily on HBP through the minors with a BA topping out at .233 in full season ball all the way in A ball. If the HBP dry up against MLB pitching, I don't think the bat is good enough to survive as a 1B.
  8. I've found a new scapegoat for this game and it's Joey Ortiz. Joey's casual defense allowing Eli White to get an infield single had down stream effects that turned Riley's groundout in the 7th from an inning ending groundout to an RBI groundout.
  9. Counsell managed both the best and worst versions of Yelich. Overall in Counsell's tenure Yelich had a 135 wRC+. In Murphy's tenure Yelich has a 129 wRC+
  10. Not that I really want to get sucked into this argument because I think it's silly but I think most would probably agree that Murphy has had better teams to manage, right?
  11. Spencer kind of walked that statement back after he realized Megill has had reverse splits in his career
  12. Megill is but Murphy tried to get cute with the matchups tonight.
  13. Perkins has an .800 OPS in this series
  14. Just unacceptable from Contreras letting Albies beat you the same way two times in one game. Just horrible.
  15. I don't think so. I think Murphy got exactly what he wanted and has Ashby for the L/L/S/L pocket in the 9th inning.
  16. Frias is starting to get that hype because he's displaying 70 grade raw power with feel to hit. That's just not something you are used to seeing from an 18 year old. Martinez is a more well rounded player but doesn't have near the tools and upside of someone like Frias.
  17. At this point I see trade candidates and not really anyone I feel really needs to be kept around and added to the 40
  18. I don’t think it’s that wild. Frias being an entire year younger and having considerably larger raw tools is a big leg up for him. There’s a reason Frias is starting to get a lot of industry hype and Juan Martinez isn’t.
  19. I believe the series is Thursday, Friday, Sunday because there’s a WC game in KC tonight and the parks are right next to each other?
  20. Yesterday was just the Eli White game. That catch he had on Yelich where he seemingly ran a mile to get it in the LF corner had a 5% catch probability and then he obviously had the 95mph throw from LF to gun Chourio in the 9th
  21. I feel like Bitonti's batting stance is very different than I remember. I thought I was watching Adamczewski for a second.
  22. E is Easy I'm pretty sure but yeah
  23. Pirates down 4-3 in the 9th at Coors and put up a NOBLETIGER. That's brutal
  24. The irony is his biggest hole has to do with his bat in his swing decisions.
