    Spending any prospect whatsoever is ludicrous to do. Even with two injuries we have better pitching in aaa than we would get via trade.

    If you think Gasser is 13th you are wrong with choosing your Bible. More like Wichowski and a hitter in the 20 range, not MeCcage. Systems aren’t linear and ours is a solid step ahead of the Mariners.

    Cortes completing four scoreless in Nashville as we speak for his final job before starting for the Brewers. I wonder if Cortes and Quintana gets us pretty close to Rice. Could even add Hoskins their way (who they’d then be able to use) if we can figure out the money aspect between owners,

    What can you really criticize Arnold for? Nothing much. Should have protected Shane Smith is about it. You could argue his trades could have gotten us more maybe but as of today we have won most if not all of his trades. As far as a point of judgement on him….if he overpays for a non difference maker and we fail to make and perform well in the nlcs, that will be a big factor to me.

    Madison brewer fans I wanted to make aware that it seems most Nashville Sounds games are on tv on the alternate CBS channel (tvw maybe it’s called). Game just starting now.

    Oh, Suarez is totally a risky add. He has sucked in a few prior seasons. But he has huge power and our team needs it somehow (most likely if we want to be in at the World Series). That said, he’s not enough of a difference maker to trade two 5-6+ controlled years quality solid starters for.

    Yeah but you just don’t make a spot for an expensive vet when you have high hopes for your under 1 million a year prospect. Naylor I can see them resigning potentially. Suarez, they won the trade with Seattle and will cash in now to profit more and hope Lawlar performs in 26 as he is supposed to perform.

    They have Jordan Lawlar penciled in at 3B next year. Top 25 ish prospect that tore up AAA. They aren’t bringing him back next season.

    Let’s not waste time on him then and move on. There are others to be traded for or we have a great team as is and don’t want to disrupt a phenomenal farm system too much..

    I like the previous posts. You guys are probably right. Still, the more I am thinking about it, this may be a sell high opportunity on Patrick, even when considering the control factor.

    And if that’s true, then selling high on Patrick and keeping CRod to maybe equal Patrick’s performance as soon as next year might be the way to go. Not really disagreeing with you and appreciate the opinion/response.

    What would you say the difference in trade value was between Patrick and CRod in spring training?

    The thought behind this type of trade would be confidence in CRod equaling Patrick as soon as next season firstly. Next, confidence Crow is for real as a MLB starter that will be successful. Lastly, confidence Wichowski and Hardin look legit as starters. Finally, I feel there’s an 80-90 percent chance one of Woody or Quintana are brought back especially after this hypothetical trade. Edited to add after re reading your “no way” in all caps that maybe Arizonas pick of Henderson or Patrick and CRod would work in that package rather than dealing both. Maybe that’s more agreeable in your mind.

    I could stomach something close to that deal, but if Pratt is involved I’d sub in CRod for Henderson and just see what they say. Throw in another 30-40 prospect if need be. I’d be all in for that. Even if you can do Pratt, Wichowski, Lara, CRod and Black for Westburg I’d pull the trigger instantly.

    Although rare, I’d rather try for both Naylor and Suarez together if we are to include a Patrick/Henderson/Gasser in the deal. Patrick, Henderson, Black, Boeve, lotto for Suarez and Naylor. Hope CRod can get back to the tier Patrick leap frogged him in. That’d be quite a splash yet very tolerable for our system.

    Controllable thru 27 and prob better chance to get than Skenes. Would Myers, Henderson, Hall, CRod, Black be enough to get it done?

    Not necessailly. You can start with Pratt and Quero and add in Logan Henderson, DL Hall, and Tobias Myers and prob get there. Still keeps a lot of pitching depth for us and enables us to resign one of Woody/Cortes/Quintana in all likelihood. Hope that Dinges can arrive when Contreras departs which seems to be about the timeline for that. Hope Ortiz performs better at SS in future until Made/Pena arrive. Otherwise he becomes a super sub in time with Durbin at 2b and Turang SS. Wilken, Boeve, or Adams hopefully grab 3B by the horns in this scenario eventually too. Skenes, Peralta, Miz, Priester, Gasser rotation next year with Ashby ready if needed. Crow, CRod, Wichowski next prospects up. Still looks sunny to me at all levels of the organization in this hypothetical deal.
