  1. Older students too. Many times the only reason they do anything is because of that relationship.
  2. How could you put Hulse over Kevin Reimer? The credibility of this thread is already in question.
  3. I teach HS social studies as well and I've had the same thought, especially for my upper level juniors and seniors. Like 2/3 days in person, 2/3 days distance learning. I think it would be perfect.
  4. When I rub my eyes I see the kitchen floor from my Grandma's house when I was a kid.
  5. I think you are understating Tausch's athleticism. His balance and hand/foot coordination was a sight to see. First saw it during his highschool basketball career. Maybe those are just aspects of athleticism that we understate generally.
  6. Maybe to give less incentive for teams to move on from older players?
  7. Yeah, I wasn't saying teachers should be treated specially, simply that I'm a decent teacher and it's been successful for me to work at home with my kid. Admittedly, I have a simpler situation than some; but many teachers in my school have more challenging situations and are doing fine. I can't speak for all jobs; but I've had a variety and it would have been fine in any of them. The more I learn about companies that successfully have at home employees, the more obvious it is that companies that try to control home work environment are either covering up other disfunction or creating it (or both). I'm proud of my school for being on the right side of that dynamic so quickly. Sam Harris had a recent podcast on this topic. It's really good. Check it out.
  8. But it doesn't have to be that way for teachers. I've been teaching remotely for 2 weeks no problem. Ridiculous by the district.

    Pizza

Heading to Wausau next weekend. Looking forward to some pizza from Wausau Mining Company!
  11. Just say Cubs fans
  12. But not THAT warm
  13. I believe he's posing a hypothetical: if someone right now offered a gaurantee of going 1-1 or you could take your chances on 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2 which would you do?
  14. I'm really feeling the loss of Michael Cohen's Packers podcast right now. What are your favorite Wisconsin sports podcasts? I'll start: Locked on Bucks for the Bucks, Milwaukee's tailgate for the Brewers, ??? for the Packers (help!)
  15. It's strange that people are pointing to Burks as the replacement for Ryan. Ryan is almost exclusively a run down player, Burks would almost certainly be playing pass down snaps like Joe Thomas did previously...I don't think the Ryan injury as particularly damaging because of the nature of the game today; but I don't think Burks is his replacement.
  16. Wait, you mean there ARE other beverages? Whiskey and vodka. I heard there's this tequila stuff down in Mexico too. I miss the drunk thread
  17. I'm out on any shared responsibility arrangement and I'd love to keep Russ Ball but not as gm. Wolf is the more flashy candidate but I've liked everything I've heard/read about Gutekunst. I'm not as hot on an external candidate but we'd have to look long and hard at Schneider if he's available. As for Thompson I appreciated his approach and the success it brought to the team Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  18. I did not think this list was sad either. Bunch of productive major leaguers some role players and some chances that didn't work out. Seems like par. At the major league level, Steve Kiefer turned my 11 year old head with a bunch of homers in his first couple of games with the Brewers, and I thought Julio Machado was a bullpen mainstay before he went to a South American prison forever. Sweet Lou "Woah Solvvd" Palmisano was the first great catching hope to come up through the minors and I bit on that. JM Gold was a minor league flamethrower that I was excited about. 19. Let me know if you start quoting the Five Hour Energy or Wisconsin Dells commercials while watching on FoxSportsGo. "It is so big, I need a step ladder to see it all." "But you're afraid of heights!" And visit Badger Mutual insurance .com....today! Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  20. Regarding the RBI baseball I am 99% sure that was with Boston. Great reference point. Baylor and Reggie Jackson were inexplicably fast in that game too. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  21. I think and hope they'll just go with Zanik. I wonder if they like him enough to have been exploring the possibility of Zanik president of basketball ops + a gm from outside. Could explain the weird process. Just speculation. Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk
  22. I think they keep Evans and Brice and skip the other ilb... Burnett and Jones will be playing down there a lot. Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk
  23. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/red_sox/2017/03/silverman_tyler_thornburg_endures_rough_adjustment_to_sox_shoulder_program#.WMUNWlIsOEo.twitter I'm interested in the differences between the Red Sox and Brewers program. I would think there would be a relatively standard approach to pitcher shoulder maintenance. Is this excessive or progressive by the Sox or is the Brewers program lacking? 24. Stupid brick wall. What a dump. Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk
  25. Same here. Not sure if I'm glad it's not just me...
