  3. Its irrational; but this article/video make me excited. I make no bones about having strongly disliked having Yuni at short. I'm so happy for a change, even if it is not a 100% fix for our SS issues. The reality is we put ourselves in this position when we decided to trade for Greinke last offseason....I wouldn't change that decision even if it meant Yuni last year and a slightly better patch this year. http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110313&content_id=16931158&vkey=news_atl&c_id=atl
  4. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/fanblogs/134988198.html Breen saying possible offer made, possibly 3 years + mutual option for a fourth. My overall choice would be Green at third with McGehee getting AB's against lefties and spending our money elsewhere. I can understand the want to get him because Green and/or Gamel are unproven; but I wouldn't do it. If we are going with Ramirez I really do not like a 3 year contract.
  5. "If Rodriguez turned down the Brewers' offer and signed with another team, that team wouldn't lose a draft choice under the new collective bargaining agreement that was finalized this week." and "The Brewers have another Type A free agent in reliever Takashi Saito. But per the terms of the one-year deal he signed last off-season, the team was prohibited from offering arbitration, which allows him to sign with any other team as a free agent without that team having to forfeit a first-round pick." I'm annoyed that they didn't acknowledge or ask about the change in compensation for Saito. I'd like to know if the Brewers approached Saito about removing the clause from his contract so they could offer him arby. I'm assuming his main objection was that the prospect of giving up compensation picks could limit his options as a free agent and that prospect no longer exists. The brewers may not have answered the question; but at least ask it or acknowledge the possibility and let us know you addressed it. (edits trying to get rid of the gray highlighting)
  6. Good ole Runnin Ron Rekindle http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Think there's a chance we can get Saito's go ahead to offer arby since the team that signs him won't have to give up picks? Or is he not type A anymore?
  8. Rr will have to find a new role player to misuse
  9. I enjoy them. I'm a guy. There are aspects I don't like (for example the heavy breathing); but overall I find them ok. In fairness my wife likes them a hundred times more than I do.
  10. Is that tom filer? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. I have been hard on rrr all year. He could have been a reason we missed the playoffs (but obviously wasn't), and I fear that without fielder on the team to help buffer us from his lack of logic we will struggle more than we should next year; but rrr is not the reason we are out of the playoffs right now. We played like absolute crap.
  12. Wow that sound great. And how is this different than the crappy way you made decisions all year?
  13. The sad part is rr thinks this this gives them the best chance to win, despite the fact the we have two center fielders who are at least as good as kotsay with the bat and are both significantly better in the field. Oh well, these types of bad decisions have been being made all year and we still have 90+ wins. I'm thankful we have a first rate pitching staff and two mvp candidates to cover for them.
  14. Money out Guererro in according to brewcrewball tweet. Money reassigned to a non-managerial role. I'm glad Mr. Pessimism won't be there anymore.
  15. That makes way too much sense
  16. Based on today's lineup, rr thinks betancourt gives us a better chance to win than hairston. He' s wrong. Again. The rest of the lineup looks like the best one we've had all year; which only makes me more angry that it took so long to call green up.
  17. And he was given up to nine inches on the outside corner....granted, he was good enough to hit that spot consistently; but it would help an aging pitcher last.
  18. Allman brothers "eat a peach"
  19. How about not judging him as a person without knowing jack about him or his situation? Calling him a bust seems fair. I wouldn't yet; less than a year ago he was looking like a possible contributor on the ML team. Calling him a loser is over the line in my opinion.
  20. Calling someone you haven't met a loser for testing positive for anything seems pretty short sighted. Anyway its looking less and less like he's not as much a "loser" as he is an uneducated consumer. As an athlete you have to know what you are putting in your body; but everyone makes mistakes.

  22. There's also the Doug Melvin kinda lookalike guy that you can see in the background on front shots of right handed batters (often same shot that you see the doorman in).
  23. Well, lifeless or not, giving up approximately 200 less runs YTD this year vs last year has helped us win games (since runs scored are lower/equal to last year--despite Prince and Braun having MUCH better years). Winning will make everyone happier and more carefree (and help avoid lifelessness). This really boils down to better pitching (since we know its not our defense), i.e. Greinke and Marcum (I look at KRod as the cure for RR's bullpen mismanagement issues). I would never defend Macha's personality or clubhouse management because it sucked, and RR clearly has that over Macha (and many other managers); but I do think Macha would have had a better shot at success given this year's roster compared to last year's.
  24. "Cards TV announcer calling Pujols "Albert Puholts"." Repeat after me, cards announcers, its pronounced "poo holes". That's right, "poooooo hooooles".
