  1. I've seen it and I've seen some minor league footage. That's why I don't get what he has thrown with us.
  2. The fastball confuses me as it is supposed to be 80 grade. It hasn't looked 80-grade all spring or today.
  3. Chourio lead off was to get him in the game from the start so he wouldn't think too much abo. Murphy said so yesterday. I think we are very likely to see Chourio hitting in the bottom of the order for a few weeks, until he proves he can handle big league pitching.
  4. We couldn't go one day before lineup arguing began
  5. If he clears waivers (big if) I would love to keep him in Nashville. Last year only needing Bill and Caratini was an anomaly, and catching depth behind him woul be a not yet ready Quero or Navarreto. Yerzy/Kahle in AA I guess.
  6. 14-16 feels about right.
  7. Perkins is the best defensive OF. Wiemer needs time in AAA to work on his new swing (9th percentile whiff rate last season). We are trying to see what we have with Ortiz at 3B and Black in a utility role would be a waste of ABs. Calling up Black also means taking a new 40-man spot and depth is key right now.
  8. When he gets back and if he can hit, I think it might be time to start seeing what we can get for him. Availability is the best ability right? The outfield is crowded as is. Chourio, Frelick, Yelich and Wiemer are here and Y-Rod and Lara are a couple years away from becoming part of the problem. If we can sell high and get an interesting arm I would be really tempted. And don't get me wrong, I love Mitchell.
  9. So it looks like Haase will be the final spot. Awful news for Mitchell. Hope he is back soon.
  10. https://twitter.com/CyrtHogg/status/1772304335906427195?t=PCCEo8WuOFCZUHVzNc7VvQ&s=19 So Perkins and Mona make it. Looks like Mitchell got injured so depending on imaging its him or Haase.
  11. Murphy said yesterday on TV that he is not moving to 3B permanently. He might play there once a week but he is not the new 3B.
  12. Per the transactions page it looks like Quero was optioned to Nashville so I'm guessing he starts here too.
  13. I'm hoping to see Jason Woodward's name on here one of these days. I know its more likely that we will see him in June-ish but one can dream.
  14. And I think that is the point. Is there any foul play Shohei is involved in? We'll see
  15. Who knows what comes of this, but MLB does take gambling seriously. I'm sure that the punishment, if any, will not be anything like Pete Rose got, but interesting to see how this develops.
  16. So Peralta, Hall, Rea, Junis, Ross to start? Move Ross to the pen when Miley is ready?
  17. They are not in the 40 man. All NRIs. No need to option
  18. They won't be in the opening day roster most likely.
  19. Thanks. Thats my point. I doubt he gets another 100 million from anyone. 33 by the end of this deal, not great peripherals. I can see 50? at most?
  20. Boras cost him money. What was the Yankees offer? Something like 200 million? Unless he pitches like he did last year (which I doubt considering his peripherals), he will not get anywhere close to that amount of money.
  21. I don't think we can expect anything from spring training numbers. Dont forget Brosseau's 1.200 OPS last year.
  22. Every extra strike stolen by framing a pitch is worth roughly 0.135 runs. Why? because counts have different run values. A 3-1 count and 2-2 are very different situations for a pitcher. Even if a catcher steals only 7 strikes over a whole game, that is equivalent to saving a run.
  23. Misio looks good so far. The usual command struggles, but has done good. I hope we see Wichrowski, Letson and Knoth. First time I've seen Clarke behind the plate. To me he looks fine but his actions seem stiff. There was a wild pitch he should have blocked. I really dont like Areinamo's swing. Way too much movement. Very Wiemer-y.
