  1. Probably a dumb question, but what does Amazon have to do with the chat room?
  2. You'd think he would just want to get out of Chicago and go to a contender at this point.
  3. Yeah, I don't get the sense he's just making stuff up to get a rise out of people. If he was, why would he pick a relatively obscure prospect like Mat Gamel? There's always the possibility this is something the Brewers and White Sox had discussed but never got off the ground. We should see soon enough whether or not this plays out.
  4. This. I don't think anyone can legitimately argue he wouldn't be an upgrade over McGehee or Counsell/Wilson at this point.
  5. Use him as a pinch hitter or a replacement for Prince in blowout games, and that's probably about it.
  6. Any chance to bash the Brewers highly (in MLB) respected trainers, right?
  7. I want long term success as well, but the division is very winnable, even with Weeks being hurt. We are in first place, and once you get into the post-season, anything can happen in a 5 or 7 game series.
  8. I think Farris can probably out-hit Counsell's current .450 OPS, but we'll see.
  9. And Doug Jones is no longer the answer to a Brewers trivia question.
  10. Yeah, they're basically going with the guy who is probably better on defense, but much worse than Green offensively.
  11. Supposed to be pretty good.
  12. Just heard it on 1250 WSSP (they referenced the Brewers Radio Network ie. WTMJ). Doug Melvin announced it.
  13. This seems premature. Or have you heard something?
  14. Yep, Weeks going to the DL. It stinks, but at least they aren't messing around with it.
  15. So, I would classify it as "likely" then. Could be. The local beat writers aren't often on top of trades like this.
  16. Haudricourt says he hasn't heard anything about Gamel to White Sox.
  17. You're right. The Braves sent $1. Unknown whether it was a single, 4 quarters or 10 dimes.Or a roll of pennies. Would be funny if they literally did that.
  18. Yeah, I don't get it. I know Thornton is a lefty and Rios would be some help in center fielder...but why give up Gamel for that? Edit: He's now saying some other minor league players would likely be involved from both sides.
  19. He's saying we'd get Matt Thornton and Alex Rios in return.
  20. If we had to take Dunn to get Alexei Ramirez and maybe another good piece, I think it would be worthwhile.
  21. One of those two was my first thought, actually.
  22. I will preface by saying I don't know if this guy is credible or not, but he has a couple tweets alluding to the White Sox pursuing Gamel in a trade. No idea how serious this is or what we would receive in return. http://twitter.com/#!/MrFantasyExpert/status/96313690202181633 Mat Gamel to the White Sox talks have intensified.....something could come of this as soon as later on this evening
  23. Yep, sounds like it's all but done but the fine details.
  24. Heyman keeps mentioning the Rangers and Giants being in on Beltran. No mention of the Brewers, which makes me think Melvin has moved on from this idea.
  25. Hopefully this gets the trade market kick started with some more moves.
