  1. I wonder if this was some sort of prank he was put up to. I can't think of any sort of "reasonable" explanation otherwise.
  2. It was kind of "meh" for me. I wasn't aware it was based on a series of books, which is I guess where a lot of the hype comes from. I thought it was OK, but kind of cliched and slow moving. I'll give it a chance with the next episode, but I found it a bit underwhelming so far.
  3. Monday, April 25th, 7:10 PM vs Cincinnati Reds. Section 311, Row 3, seats 1 & 2. Edit: Gave them away yesterday.
  4. Getting on base at least, then?
  5. You can't throw around "must win" this early in the season, but it would be nice to snap the four game losing skid before facing Roy Halladay and then Cliff Lee.
  6. He makes $5 million this year, and I'm not sure the Brewers would be willing to take on all of that (especialy for a guy hitting below .200 currently). Maybe Seattle could eat around $1 million of his salary in exchange for a lower level player?
  7. Yeah, it could really start getting warmer any day now...this weather is getting pretty ridiculous.
  8. Yeah, but facing Halladay and Lee back-to-back isn't exactly reassuring, especially after getting swept by the Nats.
  9. Yeah, the Brewers really can't keep dinking around with these sub-standard roster decisions if they want to stay in the race. Guys like Almonte, Kotsay, and Nieves have no business regularly showing up in the lineup of a team trying to reach the post-season.
  10. The Brewers' official rules under "Parking" state that the parking lots close one hour after games end, but I really doubt it's enforced that strictly.
  11. There was that blockbuster Bill Hall for Ruben Flores swap. That's it though, I think.
  12. On the TV it showed that fastball from Yo was below the zone. I think it was more of a fluke home run for Danny Espinosa than any fault of Gallardo's.
  13. I'd only trade him if blown away by an offer (ie. 2-3 top prospects, at least one of which would be ready to help the MLB club this season, assuming still in the playoff hunt). I could see trading him if out of contention, but I don't see it happening.
  14. You would think so. Counsell has been getting pretty minimal playing time compared to Mark Kotsay.
  15. This is pretty much what it boils down to. Other teams know the Brewers have no SS depth, so getting any decent shortstop is going to require giving up more than Melvin can afford at this point.
  16. Counsell would at least be better than Tony Gwynn three years ago...
  17. I wonder if Nyjer Morgan will at least start one of the games.
  18. Well, double header tomorrow. Apparently both games will be on FS-Wisconsin, so that's good at least.
  19. Disappointing, as I was looking forward to watching this afternoon. Ah well, such is life.
  20. I agree Fielder would have caught the ball if he was a bit taller (and consequently would have longer arms). The throw from Betancourt was quite poor, though. There was no reason the throw should have been that wide. I agree that Werth would have likely been safe, regardless. People forget he has good speed. Bad ending to a winnable game. Hopefully the Brewers come in this afternoon with a chip on their shoulders and kick some butt. They can still win this series, which would be huge going into Philadelphia.
  21. My guess is Morgan shows up in the 6th inning as a pinch hitter/defensive replacement.
  22. Earlier today I was thinking that Fielder won't come close to getting a contract like A-Gon just received, but the more I think about it...I could see something very similar. Especially if Fielder has an excellent season as he seems on track for. Still, a contract like that is more than the Brewers can and should commit. Like someone suggested on Twitter this morning, I could see a team like Baltimore signing him to such a deal.
  23. This has basically been known to happen for quite a while, but probably relevant to discuss in terms of the pending free agency of Prince Fielder. MLB Trade Rumors has more details here.
  24. That sounds cool. I really don't have any ideas what to do off hand, but I would be happy to try and help out if needed.
