  1. Plus his OBP is around .275 right now. Small sample, but his skills seem to be on the decline this year.
  2. They're going to want big time prospects for either of Wright or Reyes, let alone both of them. Obviously, the Brewers aren't a fit.
  3. We're in fifth place right now. Simple lineup changes (batting Lucroy second) aren't going to make too much difference at this point, IMHO. Melvin needs to make a roster move significantly better than bringing back Almonte.
  4. They'll probably want prospects. Given their financial problems, they aren't going to be looking to take on tons of salary or anything like that. I think our cupboard is just too bare in the minors right now, unless they would settle for lower level guys. I wouldn't want to see us give up Gamel, Gindl, Rivas, etc.
  5. I agree that Lucroy in the two spot looks good right now, but I don't think it's a big enough move to solve this club's offensive problems.
  6. Yeah, but why would the Mets want to deal for Prince at this point when they have Ike Davis? Reyes would be awesome on this team right now, but I don't see how we are a fit for a trade with the Mets.
  7. He's not going to keep hitting .185. Looking at him, I don't think his ABs have been that bad. I think he'll come around and be just fine.
  8. fondy, I agree. It's a fluke injury. Morgan has been a good bunter in the past, and in that situation a bunt isn't a silly idea. Blaming the manager is just short sighted and probably born out of frustration with the current record of the team, I'd think.
  9. This offense desperately needs a shakeup, regardless of what anyone thinks about Melvin's methodology, or the "makeup" of the team. 7 runs scored over the last six games. With Morgan probably headed back to the DL, I think either a call up needs to be made (Gamel?) or a trade has to be made. It's time for some outside the box thinking. Just bringing back Erick Almonte isn't going to cut it at this point.
  10. I think that's exactly it. I don't think Roenicke will try moving Hart up the lineup again until he starts hitting consistently.
  11. Craig Counsell is a weak link that should possibly be looked at right now. I know he hasn't had a ton of ABs so far this year, but he is only hitting .188 with a .278 OBP. His defense has also seemed suspect at times. Maybe the fact that he's 40 has caught up with him.
  12. Marcum gets to play stopper again. Let's hope he is solid enough (as he has been), and the lineup actually starts producing again.
  13. I think Youtube has made every Joe and Jane Six Pack think that they can make up some lyrics, splice some shots together, and make a huge viral video hit.
  14. Come on, it has to be someone on this site...tell us who you are. We promise not to make fun of you...too much.
  15. This was one of the worst games I've seen from the Brewers in a long time. Maybe I just have a short term memory, but I cannot remember a display of such incompetent defense combined with almost non-existent offense in a few years from this team.
  16. I hope Melvin is putting out feelers to the Dodgers about Rafael Furcal. Beyond that, I can't think of any SS that would realistically be available. Still, a better shortstop doesn't solve Weeks and Fielder's shoddy play. Of course we have to remember teams don't usually make big trades until June at the earliest.
  17. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Come on...reveal thyself, shameless Brewers fan.
  18. Unfortunately I have to agree. hes looked all of his age this season.
  19. The announced attendance will still be 10k plus, which will be plain hilarious.
  20. Maybe the Brewers could spring for a ticket for Estrada so he can watch Greinke pitch from the stands? Seriously, though, I'm sure if he wants to stick around and watch the second game, he can probably sit in the dugout and it won't be a big deal.
  21. Maybe not the worst of all time, but one that we chatted about at the Winter Meeting in March: "Ben Hendrickson traded to Royals."
