Yes, this seems to come up every year. If you're just driving to and from the games, things are fine. It's just not an area I'd want to be walking around as a tourist, especially at night. But during daytime at the park, things are perfectly fine.
Fun fact I read the other day: Scooter Gennett is now our second most tenured Brewers player, behind only Ryan Braun. As far as him being our go-to utility guy, I guess I don't know what else they can do with him. I'm surprised there isn't more of a market for him in a trade, as even decent starting 2Bs are somewhat hard to come by in MLB right now.
Years ago I had a Carolina Mudcats shirt that my parents got me, as a souvenir from a business trip they took. It's long gone, but this is cool news as far as I'm concerned.
Please use this thread to post any news and info relating to the Brewers' "On Deck" event which took place today. One of the bigger items of news is that it sounds like the Brewers and Ryan Braun may be joined at the hip more than we maybe thought, at least for now: http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/214672198/ryan-braun-brewers-moving-forward-in-rebuild/
I'm surprised he was actually decent last year...it was just 20 appearances, but he had a 2.25 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. He was pretty terrible the couple seasons prior, though.
Trevor Hoffman should have been a first ballot Hall of Famer. His career numbers should have made it a slam dunk. I'm OK with the others who got in, but "pledging" is stupid.
You can check out the three finalist designs and vote here: https://securea.mlb.com/mil/fan_forum/fan-shirt-contest.jsp Kind of a ho-hum group this year, in my opinion. I voted for the one with the "going going gone" flag.
Epstein had the advantages of being a big market GM, but there is no doubt he's cemented his place in the Hall of Fame with guiding his teams to championships.
Hope you are all having a great day, whether you celebrate the holiday or not. Looks like the weather cooperated today, so hopefully everyone who has had to travel has been able to get to their destinations without too much hassle. We have had an easy morning at our house, going to my parents' place this afternoon.
My guess is that we'll see Scooter traded some time in Spring Training. Some team will have a 2B get hurt, and then Scooter is a perfect stopgap type solution. We won't get back much, but it will be something.
I do not have any personal credit cards. I do have a debit card I use regularly. One nice thing is that our local credit union has a program where if you run your debit card as "credit" locally, you accumulate rewards points. I've gotten many gift certificates to a local eating establishment this way.
