  1. I think Weeks is being a bit selfish in this situation, unfortunately. The Brewers stuck by him through multiple injuries, and it finally paid off last year, after he had already been in the bigs for 5 years. Now it just seems like he is simply looking to cash out and not offer any sort of "hometown discount." I know this is completely typical in pro sports. It's just sort of disappointing.
  2. It's a bit high, IMHO. Just for comparison, here is a framed worn/signed Jeff Cirillo Rockies jersey: http://cgi.ebay.com/Jeff-Cirillo-Worn-Signed-Jersey-/250765597657?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a62cb5bd9#ht_500wt_1156
  3. I have a duplicate Italian bobble and would like to trade for a Bratwurst, or other full size bobbles people may have. Thanks. (The Hank Aaron I had has been traded).
  4. I'm really surprised someone wouldn't give him a one year MLB deal. It's not like he's a horrible pitcher or something.
  5. Posted this in the trading forum, but figured it would fit here better: Just got home from On Deck. Had fun but the wife and I were both kind of getting tired. We weren't planning on going originally, but I won tickets on Twitter the other day and wanted to use them. I got autographs from Bob Uecker and Mark Attanasio. I enjoyed meeting both of them, even though it was brief. I didn't bother trying to get any other autos (like I've said before, I'm not a big auto guy to begin with). We each got a "grab bag" for 15 bucks. Each of us got the Hank Aaron and Italian Sausage bobbles, which I didn't have previously. She also got a Ted Simmons bobble, which is cool. Also included were two club level tickets to a random game. She also got a couple tickets to an Admirals game. The SCORE t-shirt each of us got was a bit less exciting. Tried poutine for the first time, and could definitely see it as ballpark food. Decent trip all in all. I didn't purchase anything else, but there was some neat game used gear and other swag for sale. This event is probably more fun for people with kids, as there is quite a bit for the younger ones to do.

  7. Looks like I'll be going to this tomorrow, as I won tickets yesterday on Twitter. Don't really care who I end up getting autographs from, but will be interesting to see what ends up being available.
  8. Not sure if this was posted already, but seems appropriate here. Some tidbits from Rick Schlesinger about how ticket sales are going.
  9. That Randy Levine sure likes to run his mouth. Seems like one of the biggest jerks in professional sports.
  10. From that link, I can only see the Marlins' stadium as being set for 2012. Cisco Field (A's) is set for '15.Technically, I think 2015 is only a proposed date for the A's new ballpark. Doesn't sound like anything is set in stone yet.
  11. Unfortunately, my experiences outside of Miller Park and County Stadium have been Old Busch, Dodgers Stadium, and the Metrodome. Not exactly elite buildings.
  12. Sounds like John Axford may indeed have a bobble this year. From the stache's mouth.
  13. I know I saw her at least a couple times this past season.
  14. Brewers - Buster Posey (I like Lucroy...but no denying Posey is an offensive powerhouse who can play solid D. Could take over at 1B eventually if needed) Packers - Adrian Peterson (Rodgers and Peterson together would be an almost unstoppable offensive combination) Bucks - LeBron James (Can't stand him, but there's no denying he's basically the best player in the NBA and would make Milwaukee instant playoff favorites)
  15. I suppose this was good for a new topic. I think back in the "old days", there was a much greater chance of angry fans storming the field. Honestly these days, other than maybe one or two nut jobs (who would quickly be overwhelmed by security), I cannot see fans trying to get at the umpires en masse. People are much more educated and sensitive to the legalities of such actions. I would appreciate being able to see the replay live, even with the umpire being wrong. It's much more frustrating to sit there thinking, "I think it might have been wrong, but who knows?" when you're sitting in the stands.
  16. Not going to Boston this year, but hoping to catch the Brewers when they are down in STL in August. Also planning to see a Royals game in KC the same week, and possibly swing through Nashville for a Sounds game.
  17. Pink hot dog is a dumb idea, I agree. They should have done a Bonnie Brewer wearing a pink ribbon or something else.
  18. Seems too soon for an Axford bobble. Didn't they learn anything from the Turnbow fiasco?
  19. I'm starting to wonder if Andy ends up being the next boss. Seemed like the whole theme of last night's episode was him developing some self-confidence and leadership ability.
  20. Don Walker of the Journal-Sentinel talks about the new scoreboard as it relates to live replays: http://ht.ly/3LS36
  21. Well, he didn't pitch for anyone this past season, so I'm not sure how reliable he'll really be.
  22. Ferrell on the Office has hilarious possibilities as long as they don't go too over the top, like you guys mentioned.
  23. Cameron did seem somewhat "un-clutch" but I'm not sure why this really factors into a Kotsay discussion to begin with.
  24. It's also probably going to result in the Rays leaving Florida eventually. Marlins have a new stadium so they are safe, but the Rays can't seem to get one done.
