  1. Not sure if this fits, but I have a cell phone related question. I have had a Moto Q9C smartphone through US Cellular for a little over a year. Two year contract. Anyway, I really liked this phone in the beginning, but it's starting to aggravate me now. It tends to crash when web browsing, or even just freeze up completely while doing mundane tasks (like sending/receiving tasks). Almost once every day, I have to reset the phone by removing the battery and then rebooting it. The reception also seems to have gotten worse, somehow. Do I have any options for getting a new phone before my contract is up? Would I be able to buy a phone through ebay or something, and get it activated on my account, or would US Cellular charge me a fee for that? I realize if I buy a new phone from them right now, I'd have to probably pay a pretty high price. I realize I can just go down to the store and find out, but I'd rather be armed with some info first.
  2. I'm not sure of where you are getting you info; but I have never heard being able to help burn fat as a significant benefit of using Omega. It may have a very small effect, but nothing too statistically noticeable, from what I've read. It's more for general health purposes than anything. You can't spot lose fat either, so don't buy into that myth (targeting the fat around your abs, etc). Omega is a pretty safe supplement to take no matter what your goals are, though.
  3. Well, that and their old cheapskate owner, Carl Pohlad (the same guy who suggested they should be contracted and almost sold them to a group who would have moved them to North Carolina) passed away; and the new ownership seems much more willing to spend money.
  4. Just for fun (slash lines this season): Fielder: .260/397/453/850 Pena: .200/311/417/728 Smoak: .228/336/411/748 Kotchman: .187/265/291/556 So yeah, even with his "down" season, Fielder is a pretty significant upgrade for any of those three teams mentioned above. I don't think Seattle will be buying at all unless they have a massive turnaround in the next couple weeks. Last place in their division and 13 games back from Texas.
  5. I hope people aren't freaking out about McGehee that much yet. He's basically had one really bad month (June '10), that is weighing down his numbers from this season. If he is traded, I'm not necessarily against it, but he should still bring back a pretty significant return at this point.
  6. I hope so. I am going to both Wednesday and Thursday's games.
  7. I think this trade might work out... On MLB '10: The Show on my PS3.
  8. I think the team can very easily be competitive again next season if the right trades are made. Maybe one key FA signing can be made with all the salary coming off the books and possible cost savings if Fielder and/or Hart are dealt. I just look at Hart as a guy that can potentially be quite easily replaced from within the system. It's not like affordable right fielders are that hard to come by in FA, either. People talk about being likes the Twins or Rays, but then get gun shy when it comes to actually dealing guys that are becoming expensive and approaching free agency. I don't get it.
  9. Fielder is still having a good year, just not an amazing one like he had in '07 and '09.
  10. He has value in interleague games where he can be used as a 1B and Fielder can DH. Too bad Macha has only done that once.
  11. Hell, maybe if the Nats need to throw in a "sweetener" to seal the deal, they can throw in Zimmerman. Both of 'em.
  12. Brewers lineup: Weeks Hart Fielder Braun Counsell (3B) Gomez Kottaras Escobar Wolf
  13. Game time is actually 2:10 CDT. (Fixed in thread title; I think I'll let pretendastronaut or a more knowledgeable staffer mess with the graphic - hawing)
  14. If Fielder gets traded this season, it will be before July 31st. Realistically though, I think he'll be dealt in the off-season since there won't be that many teams interested in his services during the season.
  15. Davis really does not deserve to get an automatic spot in the rotation. Start him in the bullpen and see how effective he actually is at this point, facing MLB hitters.
  16. Anyhow, I'm glad I missed this one. Will be enjoying the local Home Talent League game this afternoon, rather than watching the Brewers try to avoid another sweep.
  17. Kind of disappointing to hear; but on the other hand, how many former starters converted to relievers does this organization really need on hand at this point? At least this way he has a chance to catch on with another team and possibly make the majors yet.
  18. Yeah, the silver lining is definitely that Parra seems to have stepped up as a starter lately. Go figure it happens when they leave him in the rotation on a consistent basis. That said, this team seems to be incapable of going on a winning streak, which they desperately need if they want to even get back to .500. This "win one, lose one, win two, lose two, etc" routine will simply not get them back in a playoff picture, due to simple math.
  19. That's why a PS3 is nice http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. Another thing I was alluding to was the fact that the Braves gave up quite a bit to get Teixeira to basically only have him for two half-seasons. It may not have been worth it for them in the long run. As far as the fanbase, yes, people will be upset, but they quickly got over the Brewers trading popular players like Burnitz, Sexson, Overay, etc. The difference is that we now have other star players on the team which will soften the blow. I think a lot of fans recognize the economic reality of the situation, too. I've heard a lot of casual fans lately say stuff lately like, "Yeah, he wants $200 million? No way, trade him." It won't kill the attendance if he gets dealt. And it sounds like they've already tried to re-sign him. The silence in the supposed contract negotiations has been deafening. If Prince doesn't want to be here for something less than a franchise crippling contract, I would still rather see him traded for something quantifiable than for unknown, non-guaranteed "compensation" draft picks.
  21. I had an inguinal hernia. It can be quite painful. If his was similar to mine, it's definitely not something you can just "play through". Not really hard to diagnose, either; as a inguinal hernia will show visible signs.
  22. Good. I haven't watched Leno since he moved back to his own slot and never will. I'm looking forward to Conan debuting on TBS.
