  1. As I tweeted a few minutes ago... "1B WOAH SOLVDD!"
  2. I admit I always forget which is proper, so I just use "CT", "ET", etc. when needed.
  3. Sounds good to me at this point. They should be playing the young guys and see what they have. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if Braun should just be shut down for the rest of the season since his thumb seems to be getting worse.
  4. The Brewers are going to make money again this year. So what is the incentive for Mark A to say, lets change this up. As a fan, sure we want change - it isn't our money - roll the die - let the heads roll. Change up every spot in the organization. But we are fans, fanatics, not owners. And sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Yes, I am sure the team will again make money this year. But how are ticket sales going to look during the off-season after the team finishes with a losing record and misses the playoffs after a disastrous collapse?
  5. I remember that. The season opener almost didn't happen on schedule because of a big rain storm. At least that's what I recall.
  6. I really think the house cleaning is going to happen (assuming a miracle turnaround doesn't happen). Attanasio isn't going to sit by and watch season ticket sales go into the toilet without doing something. Just firing Narron isn't going to do anything at this point. I really think this will be the off-season that Doug Melvin finally leaves Milwaukee, and Roenecke will be a casualty as well.
  7. I never watch ESPN anymore (unless there's a Packers game on MNF) so I don't worry about them. MLB Network is where it's at for real baseball coverage.
  8. Along that same line, how about 2005? It looked like towards of the end of the season, we'd finally have a winning record...then the team choked in the final stretch, and ended up with a "tied" 81-81 record. Ned Yost talked about how they were going to have a big celebratory dinner if they finished with a winning record after the final game, but ended up donating all the food. I remember being really bummed out that they didn't finish above .500.
  9. Wonderful Maybe we can also interview Bobby Valentine again.
  10. Just turned on TV to see we're losing 4-2 in only the second inning. Ugh.
  11. I remember a lot of comparisons to Gary Sheffield, but without the attitude issues. I don't know if you can blame the injuries completely for Weeks' relatively mediocre career. He's had long stretches where he's been apparently healthy, but not producing. Other than short stretches of brilliance, he's never been able to "put it all together" at the MLB level.
  12. One of the more frustrating things is that there haven't been any major injuries that can be used as an excuse this year. Lohse, Garza, Braun, Gomez, and Ramirez all had relatively short DL stints, but none so bad that you can blame this collapse on. Then again, I don't think there are any legitimate excuses for such a horrible and ill timed losing streak. I really can't remember a time when both the hitting and pitching have been so bad at the same time. Maybe you'd have to go back to some of the really bad early 2000's teams, but even in those days you'd have a guy like Geoff Jenkins or Richie Sexson who could step up and carry the team for short stretches. No one is stepping up right now.
  13. I think he'll wait until after the season to send any message. "Cleaning house" at this point wouldn't really accomplish anything.
  14. http://i.imgur.com/b5K9KVb.png "They were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked."
  15. Revised lineup up now with Ryan Braun now starting.
  16. We're in second place, 3 games out of 1st, with 21 games left to play. If the Brewers can at least split this series against the Cardinals, we're in pretty decent shape. Of course, winning the next two would be awesome.
  17. Being reported on azcentral.com and by others on Twitter. Supposedly he's been "offered a position within the organization", but he is no longer Arizona's general manager.
  18. If the Crew misses the playoffs (or, possibly, gets bounced in the Wild Card game), I could really see Attanasio deciding to start fresh and fire Melvin, Roenicke, and everyone. He wants to win badly and I don't think he would take a collapse like this lying down.
  19. Take three of four from the Cards, maybe?
  20. Is Gallardo our most successful home grown starter ever? Probably, but that's not saying a lot.
  21. I love that a certain someone won't be infecting the in game threads anymore. Win one for Bruce, Brewers!
  22. Yes, he seemed to be a great guy and highly regarded by everyone who worked with him. What a sad thing to happen, and it's not like it's been a great week already. Thoughts and prayers with his family.
  23. No one is stopping you.
  24. If they haven't ever officially retired Jim Gantner's number, they certainly won't for Gallardo, either. They can put him on the Walk of Fame and Wall of Honor (or whatever it's called).
  25. Whatever you need to tell yourself. Anyway, the team just looks absolutely horrible right now. They can't possibly play this bad the rest of the month...can they??? I don't know. I turned off last night's game after the second inning. It was obvious the team has no fight going right now. They need to snap out of this funk they're in, and quick.
