  1. Tom Petty was fine. He sounded and played like Tom Petty. If you already didn't like his music, you weren't going to enjoy his show. I'd much rather see acts like Pettty, Prince, and Paul McCartney performing (ie. not lip-synching) than the aforementioned hip-hop/pop acts. I mean, I don't think the majority of the Super Bowl audience is really into Nelly or whatever. Also, I can't remember the specific performance, but I seem to remember MTV booking another act that did a bunch of inappropriate stuff during the Super Bowl (might have been the year after the Janet/Timberlake incident, I can't remember, though). Worst one in recent memory was probably the Rolling Stones, though. Bad mix coupled with a shaky performance ended up being just an embarrassment.
  2. Yeah, I believe this is the make or break year for Yost. Melvin? No way, he'll be in Milwaukee for at least another season or two, barring something catastrophic.
  3. Yeah, no FSN HD on Charter here, either. Not holding my breath to see it anytime soon, unfortunately.
  4. Hopefully the cops bring the hurt down on them, big time.
  5. Yeah, I mean, they were in the ALCS last year. I doubt they're looking to dump their best pitcher.
  6. Kill someone, get an ankle bracelet? What kind of demented logic is that?
  7. Well, hopefully the two of them receive incredibly harsh sentences, either way.
  8. I think I heard Nick Neugebauer was working in construction, or something like that.
  9. Well, either that, or just quit giving the losers any welfare or support. I guess that makes too much sense, though.
  10. Well, I'm still mad about the blatantly wrong calls against the Brewers towards the end of the '07 season, and I don't think anything has ever been done about that.
  11. Well, the real question involving the Brewers, is whether or not this trade being finalized will create interest in the Brewers' surplus of pitchers.
  12. Mets are firmly in "win now" mode, with all the young players they've traded away (Milledge, etc). They better hope things pan out this season.
  13. Actually, I'm surprised no drunk hasn't spontaneously dropped their pants while on camera.
  14. I agree with what you said. Personally, I think some kind of licensing should be required for people to have children in this country.
  15. That's not a bad price tag for a catcher, and it's only for one year. I don't think it's as bad a move for the Nationals as some are making it out to be. They're not pretending they're going to the playoffs in '08.
  16. I think the broadcasts are fine. I feel Anderson did improve quite a bit after the first month or two of the season, which was to be expected. Schroeder brings a certain, something, to the games that I can appreciate. I don't really care for Davey Nelson...he doesn't seem to be comfortable on camera and stumbles a lot. I guess his role in the broadcasts is so limited that it's really not a huge deal, though.
  17. One time when I was at a game at Miller Park, they did the Kiss Cam thing and kept coming back to these two attractive looking college-age girls that were standing next to each other. They eventually did get them to kiss, and it was more than just a quick peck on the cheek. Good times.
  18. Clear out the inner city and start over. Expect people to behave like humans and not like animals, and let the cops do their jobs properly.
  19. I'm surprised a the good reception this movie has gotten so far. The trailers make it look really generic, factoring in that they used that awful cliche "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" song in the trailers.
  20. I wonder if the Brewers could somehow lure the Pirates into trading one of their young pitchers, like Gorzelanny. Probaby won't happen, depending on how much that organization has really changed.
  21. In terms of fan "morale", for lack of a better term, it's somewhat important to win the series. In terms of the real grand scheme of the season, it's fairly insignificant.
  22. Right, I understand Koskie was very effective...I guess I shouldn't have generalized so much. I just don't think it's realistic to talk about him, since no one seems to have even heard of him picking up a bat or glove since his injury.
  23. Well, he's definitely a Boston homer...which wouldn't be so annoying if that whole network wasn't about Boston/New York during baseball season.
  24. I don't think the Brewers are in need of any middling utility infielders anymore. It's nice that people want to find jobs for guys like Jeff Cirillo and Corey Koskie, but that era of the Brewers is done with.
  25. It is getting tiresome. Property taxes keep going up, we have a ton of built in taxes and fees in the gasoline most people need to get to work, and the state keeps raising other fees for services. Couldn't they, you know, stop spending so much?
