  1. I know about the scar tissue. The fact was, his approach was pretty bad before the stint in AAA, and it was better afterwards. Maybe the stint in AAA didn't fully make him recover, but it didn't seem to hurt, either.
  2. Yeah, I agree. One of the biggest reasons that I renewed my XM subscription this past January was for MLB 175. I really enjoy a lot of their shows, especially Dibble and Kennedy in the afternoons.
  3. I guess I would tend to hang onto Weeks, because I don't think he's going to turn into the megastar that a lot of you are thinking. He's had nagging injuries, and his defense has never looked really stellar. Yes, he started to turn it around towards the end of last season, after what I think was a much needed AAA stint. Now, do I think he'll be a solid player? Sure, you bet. I think that will mean the Brewers will have a chance to hold onto him for a long time.
  4. Played this one as a rental a while ago, and I hate to say it, but my wife kicked my butt on it, big time. I sort of gave up on it after that. :P
  5. Hehe. I'll have to ask my friend who works across the street at the GM plant about this.
  6. Like it or not, I've heard figures that something like one third of all MLB merchandise sales happen in the Japanese market. So, throwing them a bone is warranted, from a business standpoint.
  7. If i were your friend's parents, i would have been REALLY pissed. I would have demanded the girl get punished, or threaten the school with legal action. There is no way he should have been punished. I was going to say, I hope the guy's parents threw a fit.
  8. Fortunately, my understanding is that Turnbow has looked pretty good so far.
  9. That's the problem with this whole overriding PED scandal...basically, people jump all over anything a baseball player says, or gets reported, regarding their health. A guy gets hit on the head or is found taking a prescription for an injury, and suddenly its this big conspiracy theory thing.
  10. It really doesn't bother me that much. If this was the regular season, it would be a problem, but one spring training AB isn't anything to get riled up about it. It's basically no different than all the celebrities you see taking BP before regular season games. Seems kind of weird that it's the Yankees though. I mean, do they really need the extra publicity? Anyway, still nothing to get upset over.
  11. I think pale ales were way over represented. Most people I know don't even like them that much.
  12. I know it's in bad taste, but I saw this on another message board: "The toilet manufacturer should advertise 'So comfortable, you won't want to get off of it for two years."
  13. I'm not really sure what you were trying to insinuate here, but it bugs me how on this forum, seemingly every single time Molitor's name is brought up, someone has to mention that the guy did drugs in his young days. So did probably hundreds of others. Let it go already.
  14. Well, everything I've read so far has said both Capuano and Bush have looked at least shaky thus far, but that Capuano has really been struggling. It might not be a bad idea just to trade him at this point for a couple prospects or something, if a trade can actually be had.
  15. Yep, he's pretty much scum. If you dig around, there's other stories similar to that involving Boras. The best thing Brewers fans can hope for is for Prince to have some sort of falling out with Boras, otherwise I doubt there's anyway Fielder is a Brewer long term.
  16. Can anyone tell me if they fixed some of the quirks in RTTS? That would probably be the mode I would play the most, as I really like it on the '07 version for PS2.
  17. Well, the guy can't live forever, at least.
  18. AJAY, it sounds like they already offered him one contract this off-season. What do you propose they do? Put a gun to his head?
  19. I have the Mr Beer kit, which my wife got me for Christmas. I know it's not quite the same as some of the home brewing others are doing, but it's a lot of fun.
  20. AJAY, I agree wtih a lot of what you said, though I don't see how you can say Favre's legacy should have any relevancy to what the Brewers do in regard to Prince. The Packers will always be the far and away number one passion for the majority of sports fans in this state. That's just how it is. That said, I would love to see the Brewers pony up some big time cash and get Prince signed long term. I just don't see how Scott Boras is going to allow it. It's just not his modus operandi. He's going to demand that Prince wait and test the free agent market, and if his value has held in a couple years, some team like the Yankees is going to offer some insane contract the Brewers can't possibly match. I just don't see how that scenario is realistically avoided.
  21. Reed, do you have any idea how big of a whack job conspiracy theorist you just sounded like in that paragraph?
  22. Young ----> Diabetes.
  23. I'm glad that I'm not an ignorant moron. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Well, nothing works 100% of the time. Just kidding, pitchleague.
  24. Why not just ask for a meeting with your supervisor, and request a raise? Don't mention other people's compensation, just outline your experience and qualifications. Otherwise, I don't think worrying about it does you much good. The one thing you don't want to do is discuss it with other employees, at least very much. Squeaky wheels in big companies don't always get the grease...they just end up getting weeded out or passed over for promotions.
