  1. I couldn't do it twice before laughing out loud.
  2. Yeah...it was disappointing that Capellan couldn't quite get it together for the Brewers.
  3. I just bought a Wii on eBay yesterday...yes, I overpaid, but it came with Wii Play, an extra nunchuk, and the new Mario game, so I didn't care too much. The wife really wanted one for Christmas, so I figured what the heck...it would've been harder to think of a different "big" gift idea for her. I rarely splurge on too much stuff, so it's not a big deal.
  4. Eh...I think this is one that will long term be for the Nationals, but short term is better for the Mets.
  5. Lots of water. Bloody mary seems to help me too.
  6. Then you raise ticket prices, start charging people to get on waiting lists for season tickets, etc. Realistically though, I think the Rays are basically always going to be a mid-to-bottom tier team until they can somehow get out of the AL East. Sure, they will always get a lot of transplant fans attending, but people in that area won't support a team unless they're winning.
  7. If nothing else, the cool thing with Damian is that he wanted to come to Milwaukee, and always seemed like he enjoyed being on the Brewers (a novel concept, I know).
  8. Not to be negative, and I am not an architect or engineer of any sort, but doesn't the roof kind of look like a disaster waiting to happen? I'm sure it will be fine, and will be built solidly...just kind of pointing out from a layman's perspective. Still, I think it's a really neat design. I would go down there just to see a game or two if it gets built.
  9. Well, it certainly looks impressive. Their current stadium isn't even that old, though, is it?
  10. How about we just trade for Miguel Cabrera? Problem solved http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Seriously, though, sounds like Melvin was a little more forthcoming than usual, which is nice.
  11. I think the outlined trade would make the Brewers much stronger, and give them some solid depth. Obviously, obtaining another starting pitcher this off-season would probably be required, but this isn't a mutually exclusive thing we're talking about. I would really like to see something like this happen.
  12. 1,000??? Really??? I'm not an athlete, but that sounds like a ton of work each day.
  13. Ah, I didn't realize Kendall's defense had declined that much. I guess then, I don't really see the point.
  14. Kendall would be a nice defensive upgrade.
  15. See, and that's the thing. Personally, I think Schroeder is fine for what he does, but I haven't heard anyone put forth a serious candidate that would be "better" than Bill S.
  16. I'd like to know of this mythical color man who the Brewers could get, who would be better than Schroeder. Until then, I like him, and think he should stay on the broadcasts. I personally felt he got a little more serious, and better this year. Maybe he took the departure of Sutton as a sign that he needed to inject less humor, and more insight.
  17. It's fun to speculate. Yes, I would do that trade in a minute, but obviously this has a one in a million chance of happening. Carl Crawford as a Brewer would be HUGE.
  18. While I do enjoy the NL style of play, I'm starting to think the NL should adopt it as well. Every other level of baseball uses the DH...the NL may as well. Also, with the insane amount of moneys pitchers get paid to throw the ball, it doesn't make sense to put a bat in their hands, when most of them have no business standing in a batter's box to begin with.
  19. While they're at it, they should just bring back the re-animated corpse of Marge Schott to run the team.
  20. Why does it seem like the Reds are making all the opposite moves of what they should be doing at this point? Signing a manager like Dusty Baker, apparently going to keep Dunn and Griffey, etc. I mean, it's great for the Brewers, but it just seems like they're becoming like the Giants of this year: "Come see our veteran star hit a bunch of dingers as he goes towards a personal record!"
  21. That's one thing about Coors, too. I remember my dad saying that years ago, Coors wasn't available hardly anywhere, at least in Wisconsin. So if you walked into a bar and they had it, it was kind of a special thing. Now that it's everywhere, it's not really any better than Miller Lite or similar beers.
  22. Not to go way off topic, but does anyone else find all the Joba hype a bit premature? I know he was very successful in the minors, but Rob Dibble was talking about this on XM after the Yankees were eliminated from the post-season...the guy has only pitched like two dozen major league innings, and Yankees fans are already talking like he's going to be the next great Yankee or whatever.
  23. Seems like more cooks in the kitchen, really.
  24. "I've just got a feeling that Jenkins is going to be back. The only other team I could see making him a legitimate offer would be the Giants, and you got to think they want to get younger at some point." Well, going from Bonds to Jenkins would be getting quite a bit younger, ironically.
  25. This is like the old wives tale about the poison Halloween candy, which if you read about at snopes.com, has never happened in the US.
