  1. Ugh...the wheels are coming off. C'mon Cappy!
  2. Ned had some very pointed comments on that mound visit. EDIT: No more mound visits allowed by any member of the coaching staff. Yost, Maddux, even Sveum. Stay away!
  3. Come on Cappy....double play ball here.
  4. Ooh. Replays show that shot down the line by Estrada was fair. Too bad, that probably cost us another run. Tough call to make though.
  5. City of Upham, Sawyer County, 1999. Softball champs, baby!
  6. I remember the Blue Jays having the Skydome roof closed during the World Series when they played. Now granted, that was a long time ago and I think they were the only retractable roof stadium at that time, so the rules may have changed since then. I thought I heard once that a team had to decide before the postseason whether to have their roof open or closed and then stick with it for every game. So it's either open all postseason or closed all postseason. I thought I heard that back around '01 when the Diamondbacks were in the WS, but I could be wrong. Anyone know?
  7. I seem to recall the Cubs wearing their blue alternates in the playoffs back in 2003...so unless a new rule has been passed since then, I would think a team could wear any uniform that's an official 2007 uniform.
  8. People who buy tickets to a bobblehead game, walk in, get the bobbleheads, and walk right back out. I passed a bunch of people like this at the Yount game on Saturday night and it really pissed me off. I know the Brewers don't care because they get money either way, but it should be legal to beat people like this. Or at least smash their bobbleheads. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. Grammar and punctuation Nazis bug me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Just kidding. I'm a teacher and my 2 best friends in college were English majors.
  10. Hopefully it turns out better than last night. Let's go Cappy!! (Better throw a complete game shutout, just to be safe.)
  11. I just got home from the game....ugh. At least the Brewers made it seem just like old times for Ben, what with the complete lack of run support and all. This team frustrates me to no end.
  12. I just did a Cosmo Kramer spasm after seeing that lineup. What's the over/under on runs for tonight? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  13. Great night! I was at the game too and it was a lot of fun. I was worried when we didn't score any runs in the first 3 innings despite great opportunities, but we ended up getting 2 and that was all Cappy needed. What an awesome pitching performance. Jenkins' throw to nail Ramirez was insane! From my vantage point (behind 3rd base, upper deck) I thought the throw was going to hit Ramirez in the back of the head, that's how accurate it was. It did seem like there were a lot more Brewer fans than Cub fans there tonight. Some of that may have been because the Cubs fans were really, really quiet all night. The ones by me were docile; I got the impression that they knew they were going to lose anyway, so why cheer. On the way out, some of the Brewers fans were whooping it up and the general response was "whoop-de-do, you beat the Cubs. Haven't you heard how bad we suck?" One final note...I was at the game with my sister. She just finished reading my copy of Moneyball and is enjoying her new perspective on the game. So she's looking at the stats on the scoreboard and says "What kind of idiot would bat Pierre and Perez at the top of the order when their on-base percentage is so low?" It's official....even my little sister thinks Dusty Baker is a moron! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  14. Hey, Geoff made the Web Gems too. Great night all around.
  15. This calls for a Miller Lite, a cheese sandwich, and Baseball Tonight. Woo-hoo!!
  16. Cheese sandwich inside a heart. I heart Rickie Weeks. http://www.hellomynameisjoe.com/cheese-sandwich.jpg
  17. Peavey, you better be reverse jinxing.
  18. Look at all this cheese! http://www.dangerouschunky.com/art_notebook/images_notebook/8.04/cheesesandwich.jpg
