  3. Holy crap! 26 pages!! After a night of drinking, cheering, and Gilles', that's an incredible sight. I haven't read through all the pages yet (I'll do that after this), so if I'm repeating things that were already said, I apologize. What a heartening win tonight. I really had a bad feeling after the 3rd, when we kicked away two potential double play balls and let a run score, but the team really bounced back and played well after that. A couple of thoughts (again, I apologize if I'm repeating what others said): -The ball Jenkins hit down the line in the 4th was a really tough call to make. From the upper deck it looked foul, but I wasn't super mad that they called the ball fair. I was really mad because it seemed like neither ump did a good job of getting in position to see it. They just sort of shrugged and said, "Ahh, what the hell, let's call it fair." -I also thought the official scorer did a poor job tonight. I haven't seen either play on replay, but I thought the one where Hardy and Lee converged and the ball dropped should have been an error and that Weeks' shot that went under Clayton's glove should have been a hit. -Matt Wise was awesome out of the pen tonight. -Finally, I really like the Brewers playing Aerosmith's "Dream On" after wins. It seems to perfectly capture the mood around the Brewers right now. Dream on.....dream until the dream comes true! EDIT: Finished reading all 26 pages.....Ralph already nominated this thread for WOAH SOLVDD status....I guess great minds think alike so I will second his nomination. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/pimp.gif
  4. Here's to hacking on 2-0: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/pics/chuck_carr_autograph.jpg
  5. OK, the thought of Ben McDonald makes me shudder, but Starting Lineup figurines were without a doubt the coolest things ever. I've got about 50 of them, including 3 each of Molitor and Yount.
  6. As long as we're throwing bad mojo around..... http://images.bidville.com/imagehost/2004/9/1/15/823843.jpg (Couldn't find a pic of him in a Brewers uniform, but still scary enough.) I'll be there again tonight...2 nights in a row! Hopefully we'll have the same result, only without a managerial decision that generates a 12 page thread.
  7. Let's go Ben!! I'll be there tonight on the field level, yelling loudly. Go Brewers!
  8. I'll be sitting up on the top of the world tonight (40http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif , but I'll be keeping score and yelling loud enough to be heard way down below. Go Crew!! As others have said, the umps will be watching Cappy like a hawk tonight, but wouldn't it be awesome if he picked a few Nats off tonight just so we could watch Frank Robinson go ballistic?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  9. Too bad the idiot writing for the AP didn't feel the same way: "The Nationals vehemently argued the call and Robinson showed reporters the play on a small video monitor in the clubhouse to state his case that it was a bad call. The replays appeared to show it was indeed a legal step toward first base." Link
  10. I may be wrong, but I seem to remember Teddy Higuera getting called for a balk that lost the game for the Brewers back in the day ('88-'89). I was only about 7, but I remember because it was the first time I had ever heard of a balk.
  11. F this. Someone just shoot me in the head next time I think about watching this team.
  12. Hell yeah!! Nice throw Brady! The look on Lee's face was priceless.
  13. Shoot....crappy luck there. Prince hits a shot off the pitcher's foot that bounces right to the shortstop.
  14. Saweeeeet. Nice win! Great outing, T.O.!
  15. Come on Tomo! One more inning!
  16. Nice to see Damian Miller back in the lineup. And maybe we'll see Prince as a PH later in the game.
  17. Dammit, dammit, dammit. Watching this team lose makes me sick.
  18. Good God, that was crushed. Edit: On the bright side, the Brewers are doing more than their part to help raise money for prostate cancer research.
  19. Bill just said that Piniella has no lefties available to him in the bullpen tonight...so I guess we don't have to worry about someone being brought in specifically to face Jenkins and Prince.
  20. There's the straight ball for Ricky. Let's try not to strand him now.
