  1. I downloaded it after following a link off of Wikipedia (got some old Carmen Sandiego games that way too). I also downloaded the really old-school version of it with an Apple II emulator. EDIT: I got if off of this site. Apparently they want you to pay 5 bucks for it now, they didn't used to. http://free-game-downloads.mosw.com/abandonware/pc/educational_games/games_n_r/oregon_trail_deluxe.html
  2. I remember my dad and I had Brewers playoff tickets in 1992. We returned them and got our money back. We asked if we could keep one of the tickets just for the heck of it and they said if we did that, they couldn't refund our money.
  3. I was at the game too...my dad and I were trying to come up with a word to describe the team tonight and the word we came up with was "listless." I can't remember when I've had less fun at a Brewers game than tonight. And I can't believe they gave Gallardo a wild pitch on that instead of giving Estrada a passed ball. Hey Johnny...catchers occasionally move their arms and legs in an effort to catch the ball.
  4. My dad always used handkerchiefs so I do too. I have a bunch of them and just make sure I wash them very frequently.
  5. I literally laughed so hard I cried when I read this. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,293268,00.html
  6. What was different about it? I have the Bourne Supremacy too, but I don't think I would remember the exact dialogue from Ultimatum if I watched it right now.
  7. I enjoyed Bourne Ultimatum. Homer is right that the plot is a little thin, but I thought they tied all three movies together nicely, and they actually had a little reference to the Bourne books in this movie as well.
  8. Homer: I've seen PLAYS that were more exciting than this! Honest to God, PLAYS! Pin Pals: You can do it, Homer! You can do it, Homer! Pretend it's baseball and hit us a homer! Homer: By the way guys, rhyming Homer with homer? Mmmmmmmah!
  9. FWIW, here's a look at a few seasons by measuring WARP3 and adjusted EQA...it's not an exhaustive list, just what I could think of off the top of my head. (Also, I have no idea how to make a nice chart, so feel free to edit this). Yount 1982 12.9 .338 Cooper 1982 9.6 .310 Molitor 1989 9.9 .308 (he had an EQA of .343 in 1987) Lezcano 1979 7.9 .335 Jenkins 2005 8.0 .301 Harper 1970 10.0 .308 Oglivie 1980 9.6 .314 Braun 2007 5.6 .345 (to date) Fielder 2007 7.7 .329 (to date) And a couple of pitchers that had some high numbers...Rollie had a WARP3 of 9.5 in 1981, Caldwell had 10.5 in 1978, and Higuera had 11.6 in 1986.
  10. Selig brought baseball to Milwaukee and was committed to keeping it here. That's about the only nice thing I can say about him. I was just reading some articles about the collusion that went on in the 1980s and his large role in that...I didn't think it was possible, but it lowered my opinion of him even more. I don't know if I have anything nice to say about Bonds. Umm....he hasn't killed anybody?
  11. Ralph: It tastes like burning! Concert manager at Hullabalooza: Come on people, somebody ordered the London Symphony Orchestra...possibly while high...Cypress Hill, I'm looking in your direction... Also from that episode... [introductions] "Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins." "Homer Simpson, smiling politely."
  12. Moe, after Homer steals The Who from Olde Springfield: "That fat, dumb, and bald man sure plays some real hardball!"
  13. Yeah...he was "only" a DH...and he was "only" the World Series MVP the very next year after having one of his best offensive seasons. I never forgave Bando for being such an idiot.
  14. Add me to the list of people who think it's lame to boo former Brewers who never really "wronged" the team or city. Booing Molitor was pretty stupid back in the day, but at least the majority of the crowd was giving him a standing ovation. And the talk about booing people for everyday things reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry went to a fan's workplace and heckled him while he did his job. http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif
  15. Yeah, to me the JS article seemed to hint at Hardy being the one yelled at...the writer was very quick to mention his error. It would seem to make sense that Graffanino would defend a fellow middle infielder too. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.
  16. Screw you, Philadelphia. Why can't teams crap the bed like that against us?http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/mad.gif
  17. I missed the game, and when I logged in I saw that the vent thread was up to 112 pages and thought, "Man that must have been a terrible game!" http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/eek.gif Then I realized there weren't as many replies per page with Yuku. Unfortunately, as it turns out, it sounds like it was a pretty lousy game. Go Phillies!
  18. Welcome back, Des. http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/sports/buck/img/feb05/bucks022505.jpg
  19. Haven't we experienced crushing lows for the better part of three decades now? I think people are so upset now because it seems like the good times of three months are slipping away and being replaced with the same crushing feeling of the last 24 years. Like Sisyphus...we're finally getting that boulder to the top of the hill and now it seems like it's just ready to roll right back down over the top of us.
