  1. Mmmm....64 slices of American cheese...
  2. Who's the last position player to pitch for the Brewers?
  3. C'mon Barnwell, it's your big chance to be a hero.
  4. Not necessarily pretty, but he got the job done. Let's finish it!
  5. Wise looking good so far...one more to go to get it to T-bow. EDIT: I'm an idiot...spoke too soon. Come on Matty, bear down!
  6. "I think he played that inning perfectly. Agreed. It also helps that our bench is infinitely better than years past." Yep...as someone said earlier, no Magruders to be found on the bench. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

  8. Here comes Turnbow... EDIT: I believe that if a pitcher comes in at the start of the 9th inning, he's only eligible for a save if the lead is 3 runs or less. If he comes in in the middle of the inning, I think the tying run has to be in the on-deck circle. At least, I think that's how I remember it.
  9. 3 run difference for a save situation as far as i know. I made it home just in time!
  10. The FSN guys said it was Jamie Navarro in 1992. As long as I'm at it I'll check baseball-reference.com.... Navarro went 17-11 with a 3.33 ERA. He pitched 246 innings, threw 5 complete games, 3 shutouts, walked 64, and struck out 100.
  11. Thanks, rluz. I guess there is a big difference between 10-9 and 11-8, it just looked like the gap there was bigger than the gaps between other numbers. There is some serious wind/rain/lightning going on right now. I'm working at a soccer game right now, as they debate whether to play the varsity game (the JV game was called) due to the storm. Obviously, my vote is that they call the game so I can go home and watch the Brewers!
  12. So there's a 75% chance that they win at least 10 more games, correct? Or am I an idiot? I like those chances. Let's go Cappy! I'm curious...don't want to drag this thread off-topic, but why the huge drop off in probability between 10 wins and 11?
  13. I was there tonight too, and wow, what a frustrating game. I suppose since we were facing a soft-tossing lefty who was also making his Major League debut, we really were doomed from the start. Still.....four hits? I really hope the Sheets injury doesn't deflate the team, but right now I don't have a great feeling.
  14. No game on TV? Guess I'll have to go drink instead. Let's go Sheeter!
  15. I was at the game tonight...most of what I have to say has been beaten and beaten and beaten to death already, so I'll try to be brief. -Everyone in my row groaned in the 4th when Magruder was sent up to PH. We would have liked to have seen a better hitter up there because you only get so many chances with the bases loaded and less than 2 out. -The home plate ump's strike zone was RIDICULOUSLY inconsistent...for both the Brewers and the Cards. He was just awful. -I didn't really see it mentioned on here, but it sure looked like Brady got a terrible jump on that ball in the 8th. If he had made a better read on the ball off the bat, he might not have had to dive for it at all. Instead, he stayed frozen too long and couldn't make the play. That's all. It was frustrating. I really hope tomorrow is better.
  16. Wow how the pendulum has swung. 3 days ago we were talking wild card, now everything is hopeless and we are cursed with losing. Just another week in Brewer Land. As long as I'm here, there is a question that popped in my mind during the 8th inning: If there were a statistic called "Almost Caught Balls" for outfielders, would Brady Clark lead the league? My thinking is yes, but that could just be because I sat in the Beerpen tonight and had my share of Miller products. I'd be curious to hear what others think. It just seems like he is always thisclose to making some nice catches but never quite seems to do it.
  17. Let's get some runs! For those listening to TMJ, am I alone in thinking that the Miller commercial where the girl sings "Purty Little Love Song" is incredibly annoying?
