    They are no longer eligible, which is part of the fun of an NL-only league. Don't draft anyone likely to be traded!

    Given last year's start, it seems odd to question Ned's "setting up" of the team. Yea, he's tinkering around with some ideas, but it IS spring training, and spring training is the time to tinker. Yea, having a cleanup hitter that can also swipe bags is odd, but if he can do it, what's the problem? It's not like "being protected" (if you believe that sort of thing) by Hart is a bad thing. I'm certainly not against fighting the baseball norm, so long is there is good reason to do it. We won't be batting the pitcher 8th every game, but rather when the situation calls for it, according to the information they have (probably dependent on SP/lineup/pitcher ability to hit). Also, I don't tend to put much stock in spring training stats. If they were an accurate representation of the truth, Gabe Gross would be Babe Ruth II, minus the pitching ability. Every team is tinkering, so the stats aren't very reflective of the upcoming season.

    That, and it appears they are trying to find out if he could be used in a long relief role, given the length of his spring outings. If he can handle the long relief role, whoever misses out on the rotation can go to AAA and be called up to start without having to be stretched out first.

    Within 1 hour of landing in PHX, I ran into Joe Torre's brother in Maryvale (which was closed for the day), who apparently served in WWII with George Bamberger and caught Robin Roberts for a time. Lots of awesome stories.

    Medal of Honor = bad. I could spin around and get shot real easily, but very difficult to actually play/move.

    I love me some power pros. The fact that you get to specify what area each individual player focuses on during practice is awesome.

    This would certainly seem opposite the trend of all of the Florida teams running to Arizona.... I don't think spring training attendance would be a motivating factor in moving the team, though actual location may (I have not been to Maryvale, but have heard it is not in the best part of town).

    Section 38 in the bleachers was, um, colorful. If you are going with a family and/or sporting any other team's gear, I would try to avoid sitting near them (last section of right field bleachers).

    In terms of cash, the sooner the better, as it will help offset the couple hundred bucks I had to put out to reserve our spot in the league. I'm pretty sure my brother will be filling one of the spots, but 1 more would be a very good idea.

    Tech is horrible on many levels, most notably their "awesome" new building. The layout is "open concept", meaning that classrooms are more like cubicles than actual rooms with things like sound barriers. I'm not sure if this is still the case, but the lockers were originally inside the classrooms, meaning that disruptions occurred rather frequently. I'm amazed how far MPS seems to have fallen in the 7 years since I graduated.

    I have no graphic sklizz, but a t-shirt which says: "Chicks dig the long ball... We dig OPS" with a bf.net logo on it somewhere would be awesome.
