  1. HOT LINK ACTION Well, as bad as things were here, we can all agree that we're immensely better off than Pittsburgh. This is reminiscent of Detroit Lions fans for the past decade. Its a shame that the team with possibly the greatest ballpark in MLB is so consistently bad....
  2. In honor of BraunsBoyfriend, I will be indulging in some pork products at summerfest. Or is that in honor of our smelly mods? Or maybe they smelled me after softball? I'm confused.
  3. I still need RC, RF, SS, and P. That would be pretty cool, even if i only get an inning at certain spots (namely, SS and P).
  4. Mr. Rad Man, You did just fine pitching yesterday. Yea, you walked a few guys, but just a few. Its not really your fault that they were crushing them mercilessly. After all, it IS softball. Its not like you can throw them something off-speed.
  5. Without cheating: Roberto Clemente, Pirates Cal Ripken, O's George Brett, Royals Guesses: Rod Carew Lou Brock
  6. Depending on the row and time of day, you can get some sun in 217. When the shadows begin to creep on to the field, they creep away from the stands (IIRC).
  7. Humboldt Park on Howell and Oklahoma is pretty solid. A family tradition for at least 20 years now (my aunt lives across the street, making seating a breeze). Long fireworks, usually a pretty good show (though, admittedly, not the Big Bang).
  8. 1free beer for every base we get during the game. Guaranteed giant crowd. Those suckers don't have to know its Milwaukee's Best.
  9. Would anyone be interested in a 2nd in-person game next week sometime, maybe Monday or Friday?
  10. Methinks, fair or not, that Bagwell will not be getting in to the HOF. 449 steroid-era homers (not saying he was on them, but not that impressive for the era as a whole) and 2300 hits probably doesn't get it done.
  11. So, 98 years without a perfect game, and now 3 in 6 years? I blame steroids. Here's hoping Parra doesn't follow the career path of Halama or Wasdin, and that we see him in our bullpen come August or September!
  12. I'll be somewhere in 424 with my Brewerfan.net softball shirt. Feel free to say hey if you see me wandering around. Oh yea, and its awesome that Gallardo goes today!
  13. So what if he doesn't have a job. Haven't the Beatles taught us anything? http://www.starclustermusic.de/artists/beatles/beatles/cover/sfbe6702.jpg Granted, this isn't a parent, but isn't this what happens when kids keep asking their parents (usually mom) to prom? This is just the next logical (well, illogical) step.
  14. Congrats! And wow, just wow. The power of Brewerfan.net surprises me yet again. Is Brian your minister?
  15. Just out of curiosity, did the predictions thread disappear? I thought it would be fun to go back and see how people are doing at the all-star break, but I can't find it now.
  16. It's only a 50th anniversary. Not an excuse to miss softball. Sucks you'll miss the last 2 games. I'll do a rain dance for you.
  17. Ah, the Texas Rangers. Where NL Central teams travel to die.
  18. Glad I checked the time. I was thinking our game was at 9 pm tonight. Sorry to hear you can't make it Brian, hopefully we'll see you next week.
  19. Nice to know I share a birthday with Lou Pinella and Carlos Quentin. That site is becoming a bigger and bigger waste of my time (in a good way).
  20. Generic odds of the Brewers and all active affiliates leading their respective divisions: 1 in 5760. Awesome to see the minor league teams performing as well as they have. Hopefully Nashville can keep it up now that we've taken away their 2 best players.
  21. Edit: Got enough people now. Thanks!
  22. LF, 1B, 3B, now 2B. I am the Bill Hall of softball, minus the talent.
  23. Seriously, you can do this WAY cheaper if you do it yourself. I'm down to 10 stadiums left (11 with the new DC in 200http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif , and did it during college on a tight budget. A couple pointers: 1. Stay outside town when possible. We usually booked a hotel that was 30-40 miles in the direction of our next stop, further if it was a day game. 2. Pack a cooler for the car. While not luxurious, sandwiches and bottles of water/soda in a cooler will save you a ton of dough. 3. A couple suggested NY routes (if schedules work, 1 game/day): A. Detroit, Toronto, Hall of Fame, NYC, NYC, Philly, Pittsburgh, home B. Cincinnati, DC, Baltimore, Philly, NYC, NYC, HOF, Toronto, Det What cities do you have left?
  24. I'm going to vent on the vent thread. Its one thing to be upset at the result of tonights game. Its another to blame Yost that Mr. Perfect Cordero became human tonight. Would you have preferred Capellan? Perhaps Spurling would tickle your fancy? Sometimes you can make the right decisions and get the wrong result.
  25. Well the last 15 minutes were certainly fun. And by fun, I mean I'm glad my apartment is still standing.
