  1. Yea, they were pretty good. We showed good patience at the plate the first inning, but it seemed after that he got more accurate and we got more aggressive. Tough loss, but we'll meet again. Time to go pop some advil now.
  2. Wrigleyville seems, at least to me, like the East side of Milwaukee. I've never felt threatened walking back to my car, nor has anything happened to my car.
  3. If it weren't for Patrick I wouldn't know Moustakas from Aumont. I actually pay attention to the draft now! Thanks Patrick!
  4. I always drive in and park in one of the surrounding neighborhoods for free (long walk, but worth it to me). Also, to leave the game (assuming you drive), take Irving Park Rd., which is north of Addison. Traffic on Addison is always horrendous, while traffic has been ok on Irving Park every time I've used it.
  5. It's one thing to say smoking is bad. It's another thing to say they deserve to die because of it. My dad started smoking at 13 (not a typo), and has tried countless times to quit, including the gum, patch, and several doctors visits. Addiction is tough to beat, regardless the substance (I have tried to give up soda, but get migranes that last several days due to caffiene addiction). What if they worked in a coal mine? Do they deserve a transplant? They knew the risk involved, and worked there anyways.
  6. If you are offering free food, I cannot turn it down. Is there something I can bring (beer, soda, chips, etc)?
  7. Only half correct. You also forgot that there will be 5 or 6 "rap stars" dancing around the tank while it rolls along with nobody at the wheel. Ghost ride da whip! For further clarification, do a youtube search of "ghost ride da whip." Hilarity ensues.
  8. So that's what my half hour between Keefe and North was about.... Ended up taking North to Holton to Michigan to 794. Yeehaw traffic.
  9. He wasn't totally positive he could make it, so 3 is fine (barring another Brewerfan.netter joining).
  10. My brother may be interested, so we could possibly do four. Either way, I'm fine with that.
  11. Attendance seems sparse. Should we try for the following week?
  12. Man Ram with a "passionate slide". Man, sometimes I dislike ESPN broadcasting.
  13. The bat on mine rests on his head, minimizing the bobbling sensation.
  14. In situations such as these, it is the runner's responsibility to avoid the fielder, even if it means leaving the baseline. In this case, the runner actually could have run on the infield grass to avoid the collision and been safe (had he actually reached base).
  15. Out. The fielder is making a play on a live ball, and the runner is supposed to avoid the fielder in such situations (or so I think). Rule 7.08 (b) The runner is out when: (b) He intentionally interferes with a thrown ball; or hinders a fielder attempting to make a play on a batted ball; Rule 7.08(b) Comment: A runner who is adjudged to have hindered a fielder who is attempting to make a play on a batted ball is out whether it was intentional or not.
  16. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Rafael lost his cool.
  17. More movies: Running Man Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation Tiny Toons was watched a ton as a youngin. Running Man is like a twisted version of American Gladiator, which was also awesome.
  18. Substitute "fight" with "extort" or "plunder", and I think the song is dead on.
  19. I'd do anything for $5! Seriously, this is gonna be one of the craziest stories of the summer, and I can't wait for all the details to come out. I guess this proves that a big bankroll IS enough to win an election, and not because of advertising.
  20. Jamie, I agree to a point. When we're playing a big game (Bay Street, I'm looking your direction), it would be nice to put our best team out there for the whole game. Conversely, since this is a social league, it would also be nice to have some of the better defensive players take a back seat in the easier games (teams to remain anonymous). Everyone spent money to be on the team, and everyone has to make the drive down, so everyone should get some PT. Of course, this could be up to the individual as well. If some of our team members would rather not play defense, thats fine too. But they do deserve the opportunity to play, should they desire it.
  21. I'm totally down for a game at your place. If anyone plans on being on yahoo tonight, lemme know so perhaps we could get a brewerfan table going.
  22. Everybody get your Woot on! editted for extra emotion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. We should seriously get this going. I haven't played Sheepshead in person in years, and I'd love to play on a semi-regular basis. Just about any weeekend evening works for me.
