  1. I'm still in, as I will desparately need some BP and throwing. Do we have any unfilled positions yet, or have starting jobs been locked up? Basically, I'm interested in if we have a 3B, 1B, 2B, or RF....
  2. Sweet. Count me in for sunday at 1 at McCarthy park then. See you there!
  3. Does everybody know where McCarty Park is? If not, its on 84th and Cleveland. Note that Cleveland doesn't run from 76th to 84th, and the parking lot is just off of 84th (where Cleveland would be). If enough people are interested, I would love to practice there on sunday and actually meet some of the team. Otherwise, Wilson park on 20th and howard has a ton of fields (across the street from the ice rink), and I can pretty much guarantee that the field at Milwaukee hamilton will not be in use (although its a baseball field).
  4. I live in the southern burbs, so that'll be fine with me. My computer use will be sporatic at best the next few days, but I'd definately be interested. PS Jamie did you receive my league fees check?
  5. Dang it. I'll be on the road back from fliorida and will be back saturday night. If anyone wants to get together on sunday, I'm game. Otherwise, I'll catch you guys at practice 3.
  6. If you happen to be in Nashville on Friday or Saturday, I'll be sporting my brewerfan.net softball jersey at the game. Feel free to say hi if you're there, and have a good trip!
  7. I will be unable to attend, as I will be in sunny Florida. I am still definately in though, and will hopefully be at practice #2.
  8. Nah. Not only can I throw about 60 mph tops, I can also hit the ball out of the infield! I'm the next Alex Sanchez, minus the speed and attitude.
  9. Yea... I wear mine every bowling league night now, and probably to every brewer game I go to this year... perhaps even when I'm on vacation in Tampa later this month. Man, I can't wait for softball to start.
  10. I am still definately in, but will be in Florida from April 13-23. Can I mail you a check, or paypal you some cash? For cleats, try Dunhams. I got a pair there last year for $20. I think there is still one in Brookfield off Bluemound road, but I could be wrong. As far as positions, I can't pitch, and Cecil fielder may give me a challenge in a footrace. That said, I'll play anywhere (first, third, or right preferred). I'm just in it for good times, not to become softball guy.
  11. Nice article! I did a brief analysis of the first 3 rounds from 1983-1999 for a paper last year (using Winshares due to time crunch) and found very similar results regarding the HS/College debate (although I left Juco lumped in with the D1 Schools). My theory as to the success/failure differences is that college can act as a filter of sorts, as the increased sample size for the player more accurately shows the talents of an individual player. Of course, it also weeds out injuries, just as you pointed out.
  12. Unfortunately, I am now enjoying Hangover Day, as my beer pong partner and I went UNDEFEATED from 8 pm to 2 am, never leaving the table. And whoever said that switching from beer to Jaegerbombs was a good idea owes my liver an apology.
  13. Interesting find, although I'm not sure he'll actually steal 11 bases.
  14. I didn't realize that race was a part of the range factor equation... No wonder my range factor is so small.
  15. Simply scrumtralescent. Thanks for the updates during the year, making me feel as though I have a clue about MILB!
  16. Yea, sorry bout that. Misread your post...
  17. I used this for my senior paper in college (of course, about the Brewers): Baseball Statistics Hope this helps!
  18. I know its near the end of the season, but he's already at 107. Betting on a very short leash next inning.
  19. Hide the women and children!!! Atta boy Geoff!
  20. How the #5 all-time K man is not in the hall is a mystery to me... I voted yes
  21. JJ has made my fantasy team rejoice today and for the past month. Hosannah!
  22. I officially have a man-crush on JJ Hardy.
  23. Don't be sad... Weeks will have more steals and homers and such.
  24. Next year, no bobblehead days.... we'd be .500 if not for these oversized head promotions..
  25. The Importance of Balls and Strikes Not Brewers specific, but has some handy information...
