    Oh ok? He’s on pace for over 100 innings out of the bullpen this year. Before this game’s usage. Maybe every day isn’t the right descriptor. But relieving every OTHER day and being a multi inning reliever is unheard of these days.

    I tell ya, Murph never used to do this, but this stacking 3 lefties in a row, knowing you’re not going to pinch hit for them, is a terrible idea. Absurd.

    I think instead of trotting Woody back out or trying to see if he can get Grant Andershot’s arm to fall off, Murph should just see if he can get a few innings out of Hall. Gotta see if he can ever be more than mop up duty.

    It infuriates me that they waited til 75 + pitches in to steal a strike with that curveball. I know it may not be a great pitch, or the metrics may not be high on it, but Woody is insane if he thinks he is just going to be able to cruise through lineups throwing all fastballs and changeups. In order to do that throwing 91, you need Maddox level command. He needs to use his full arsenal strategically to keep them guessing. And what happened when he finally did? He whiffed the batter on 3 pitches.

    I love to see Lara get some love. I know everyone is obsessed with power and there’s two things in regards to that with Lara: 1) As we’ve seen with Turang and Frelick, to different extents, a lot of talented, athletic prospects see their power become at least passable as they enter their mid 20s. In Turang’s case it appears it will get to above average. 2) More importantly, if a player is an elite defender at an important position, being a switch hitter who can hit for average, draw walks, and steal bases is enough, even if they never develop much pop. If Blake Perkins hit 270 with a 360 obp, he would steal 30 plus bags and his defense would do the rest. Add in the fact that he’d most likely win a gold glove playing every day at and that is an awesome player at center field. P.S. I love me some switch hitters.

    ??? No room for any nuance huh?? I’m gonna go ahead and disagree with that blanket statement. Maybe usually that is the right move. Very few situations for one move is ALWAYS the right move.

    I don’t know about that. Especially with how badly he has been struggling coupled with the fact he is coming in cold off the bench and pinch hitting, I don’t think he should have challenged.

    I don’t know…..the times he has gotten into a rhythm he hasn’t been THIS bad. He walks a little, and has some pop. When he’s struggling like this he’s unplayable.

    This pinch hitting is unnecessary. Not only Mitchell can’t hit, the Sanchize doesn’t even have huge hitting splits.

    When I saw the video of Buckner missing 20 + calls…..it crossed my mind that maybe he thinks he’s doing it in protest, like purposely missing calls.
