  1. As much as I want to, I don't see changes at all. Unless Mark A. cleans house completely. Melvin has shown a complete aversion to managerial changes. And to be honest, I'm not sure anyone can win with the hand Macha has been dealt. You have a rotation of soft tossing finesse pitchers. You have a bullpen of aging arms who have had to throw a ton of innings. And you have a beer league offense that only knows how to hit home runs. Bunting runners over, taking extra bases, advancing runners, all foreign concepts to these guys. They can't manufacture a run to save their lives. I absolutely hate their approach. I don't think I've disliked a baseball team more, to be honest. I don't like the way the team is built at all.
  2. I don't think the results would be different, save a game or two. I'd argue that Melvin's shoddy attempt at a pitching staff is more responsible than the managing. Blow the whole damn thing up. Can't get much worse.
  3. Rickie needs a day off badly. I don't care if he doesn't want to sit. He's stunk all month.
  4. Unless he slid over the plate (very possible as I didn't see it well) it's hard to believe a guy sliding feet first is out when tagged that high.
  5. That's my concern as well. Buddle and Gomez are hot right now, but MLS and Mexico are a far cry from the World Cup for two guys with little international experience. I don't even feel comfortable with Jozy alone up front either. Jozy's strength is being able to hold the ball up, and keep his marker at bay with his size. He's got a very poor finishing touch. My worry is that the midfield (their strength, IMO) will create chances but no one will be able to take them.
  6. I looked into this, and I apologize if it's been posted already, but this describes them perfectly. In 15 wins, they've scored an average 9.5 runs, giving up 3.3. Winning by an average of 6.2 runs. In 19 losses, they've scored an average of 2.9 runs, giving up 9.3. Losing by an average of 6.4 runs.
  7. I freaking love Ryan Braun. The last 20 minutes have only affirmed this- 1) Lays down a bunt to try and get a baserunner with Jones playing back at 3B. 2) Stays in the game after getting plunked. 3) Even after three throws, and three painful slides, he keeps taking the same lead off of first. 4) Smart enough to not head back right away on the fly ball, and keeps Atlanta from getting a cheap force out at second.
  8. Hawkins is now the "8th inning guy" and the "I don't want extra innings guy."
  9. Sick of the stigma that comes with having a carry-all? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Totally agree. It's not like there was a guy on base. Bush had another inning in him.
  11. Prince better hit a 3 run homer to make up for this frame. Absolutely inexcusable.
  12. I'm reminded of a saying I heard while watching the Premiership. "You cannot win the league in September, but you can lose it." Kinda have the same feeling here. That's a considerable hole to be in 25 games in. I just pray I haven't spent a couple hundred dollars on meaningless baseball this summer.
  13. If Greg Monroe is there when the Bucks are picking I take him in a heartbeat. Great offensive player, and an exceptionally good passer for a big guy. Can defend the position as well. The two guard could be a little more tricky. I sure hope they can sign Salmons.
  14. I loved this team from the get-go. Loved how hard they played. Grateful for such a fun season, one that revived my comatose Bucks fandom. BUT, I'm not optimistic at all about next year. This team absolutely needs a power forward who can score a bit and defend. Luc does what he can, but he's so offensively limited. Also, their backcourt will more than likely be gutted. It'd surprise me if Salmons or Ridnour returned, and losing Salmons scares me the most. They need a consistent threat at the 2 guard. I think you can fill one of those in the draft, but getting a quality FA will be difficult.
  15. 1-5 homestand. Suckity suck suck. Thank God the Bucks are still in it. My attention can be turned away from this trainwreck.
