  1. So, unfortunately for us, the only person who didn't see this coming is the manager. Sigh.
  2. Zack Greinke's stuff is electric. And that was his second start of the year.
  3. I'm starting to wonder if Roenicke is out of his depth. Although, on the pecking order of things wrong with this team, he's still in the bottom half.
  4. Yep. All or nothing hitting and bad defense. Two hallmarks.
  5. I used to think that as well, but this year has shown me how important it can be. Look at Greinke's first inning last night. They field the ball, he has a fairly easy inning, and who knows how the rest of the outing goes. Errors lead to long, stress innings on starters. Which eventually taxes an already shaky bullpen.
  6. I can see that. Not sure I agree with the move, but it's the only logical explanation I've seen so far.
  7. 2B Weeks CF Gomez LF Braun 1B Fielder 3B McGehee RF Hart SS Betancourt C Nieves P Gallardo Is Lucroy hurt? Nieves here doesn't make any sense.
  8. I'm guessing it's probably tendinitis then. The tingling would happen every time I threw, and it was because the ligament was hitting a nerve. If I really dial it up without properly warming up I'll still feel it, but not nearly as bad as before.
  9. Do you feel any numbness or tingling in your hands when you throw? I had elbow pain and tingling while playing softball my freshman year of college, and had it checked out. Turned out it was a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament. Since I wasn't a real athlete, I just had to shut it down for 6 weeks.
  10. [quote author=trwi7 wrote: [/b]Their goal song is enough to make me hate them as much as the Bears. A-freaking-men. I'm not a hockey fan, but have been sucked in during the playoffs. I celebrated in my living room when Vancouver won it.
  11. Difference in philosophy, I guess. I prefer not to take the chance of running into the first out at home plate, even with a possible reward. Your first sentence is why I hate putting it on there. You're right, you don't know where it's gonna be hit. This time, the ball was hit in front of Betancourt. Barring an error, he's not scoring there. The ball is faster than him and has less ground to cover.
  12. First of all, there's no way they get two on that ball. Might not have even gotten Lucroy at second. Chances are they take the safe out at first. If Yuni stays put, that's 2nd and 3rd, one out. No double play possible. What gives you a better chance for a big inning? First and second, one out or second and third, one out?
  13. Ahem- @howiemag: And so there's no mistake, Roenicke said Betancourt is going home on any ground ball there. I will apologize for nothing after reading that. Ron needs his head checked.
  14. No one's arguing that Stetter is solely a loogy. But I think you need someone in that role. Ultimately, it depends on what they see Parra's role as. If they see him as the "long guy" then Braddock would have a role. If they plan on using him like their other relievers, then I think he and Braddock become redundant.
  15. Stetter ahead of Braddock? Not sure about that one. Braddock has been bad, and his velocity is down. Not a good combo.
  16. I don't care if he's a rookie manager. Putting a contact play on with first and third and NOBODY out is freaking idiotic. Inexcusable. Then there's the double switch allergy. And the puzzling bullpen moves. And Ed Sedar, but that's not his fault. But the morale is good, so he'll get a pass on the management gaffes.
  17. The look on Eddie's face was hilarious. Great catch by the FSWI crew.
  18. Which begs the question, why in the hell would you put a hit and run on with Yuni up?
  19. That was a great call from Ueck. From the toes!
  20. Cappy got a win in his first start for the Mets tonight. He's one of those players I'll always root for.
