  1. Stopped at the New Glarus Brewery yesterday. Awesome facility. Would be pissed though if I drove from MKE to take a tour there. Had the Golden Ale, which I thought was pretty bad. Something was off about it, not sure what it was. For some reason I've never had the Stone Soup... just fantastic.
  2. Meh. Until the Brewers are legitimate WS contenders, I just root for a well-played, entertaining baseball game. I'm going to bed happy with this one, was fun to watch.
  3. I thought those "amazing classy wonderful Godsend" St. Louis fans from the "greatest baseball town on earth" would never do something so uncouth as booing at a ballgame. At least that's what Joe Buck told me.
  4. If you're gonna rely on two sluggers, you darn well better have some guys who can get on base in front of them. So far the Brewers haven't had that very often.
  5. My issue isn't so much with the lack of bunting, it's the lack of good situational hitting. It doesn't always have to be a homer. The guy is pitching away, take it to right instead of pulling a weak grounder to short (I'm looking at you Mr. Hardy). I'd kill for a Mark Loretta type on this team. Very rarely strikes out, not a lot of pop but you'll get a good at bat and often times at least a productive out.
  6. One thing I would love an answer on- I was at the game, and during the meeting/lineup card exchange before the game Macha was gesturing quite a bit, and looked to get into it with the Dodgers bench coach. It was odd, I've never seen anything like that. Anyone know what went on?
  7. I don't have an issue with CV either. Coffey was the one that made me scratch my head, seeing as he pitched 2 innings last night. Especially with DiFelice rested.
  8. At least you knew those teams stunk! There were no expectations. And this group is clearly capable of playing good baseball. For some reason they're just not doing it. That's why they frustrate me so much.
  9. I. Hate. This. Team. I've watched the Brewers for over 20 years. This is the most frustrating team I've seen. The offense shows up once a freaking week. If you're lucky one of the 5 starters will go past 6 innings. And, the bullpen, while good for the most part, picks the most inopportune time to blow up. And it's not just a funk, the team has stunk for 2 months now. This is supposed to be fun, right? I feel like the villian in a flipping kung fu movie. I take two chops to the head and a kick to the nads and I get up for more. Good thing I'm going up north this weekend, I need a break from these clowns.
  10. I thought he went by good looks, fan votes, and pink bat homers. Of course I know that, I was being facetious with my "proposed" trade.
  11. Time for a 4H trade. Hart Hardy Hall for Halladay Sounds fair, right?
  12. Didn't see this posted yet, but on the radio this morning Macha said that Suppan will go tomorrow, and that McClung will not start on Thursday. Bush will be ready to go after the break. Who ya got for Thursday? I have a feeling it will be Parra.
  13. Gotta be honest, I love that someone is showing some sense of urgency. Can't rely on the "We're in first place" argument anymore. The ship, with the hands they have on deck right now, is taking on water. They're 20-25 since Weeks went down, the offense has maddeningly inconsistent. The starting pitching has had few starts longer than 6 innings. The bullpen is really the only thing outside of Braun and Fielder that have kept them afloat. Hate to say it, but the Cubs are gonna get a lot better as they get healthier this week. The Brewers squandered their chances at separation while in first, and are in danger of sliding into the break.
  14. Cubs at full strength are far better than the Brewers and Cards as is. Barring a major, major move by one of those two teams I see the Cubs winning the division by 5 games. Brewers don't have enough pitching depth and with hitters like Cameron, Hart, Hardy, and Kendall in your lineup, there's no chance of a consistent offense. .500 will be a good season for this group.
  15. He'd be a LH #5, who has been a consistent starter, and can eat innings. All an improvement over McBurns.
  16. This is what I was afraid of. He'll be at 40+ pitches and done after 2 or 3. Pathetic. I can't believe Dillard is that much worse. He's stretched out and had pitched pretty well when he was up. Just like the A-Ram walkoff in 07, this series is gonna be the one we look at after missing out on October. Hope I'm wrong but that's the feeling I get.
  17. I'm not worried about Yo. He's not an extraordinarily hard-thrower, and he doesn't rely on a lot of hard sliders or pitches that put a lot of strain on the arm. Gallardo has such a smooth, effortless delivery that I think his arm will be fine. He rarely appears to be straining out there.
  18. From ESPN Magazines Jorge Arangure's Twitter- BREAKING: DR OF Jose Alberto Peña will sign with the #Brewers. Bonus amount coming info coming... http://twitter.com/jorgearangure Anyone know about this guy?
