  1. Yosted again. Was at the game and when Aquino was brought in my brother and I looked at each other and said "oh boy, here we go." Terrible decision. At that point you need to worry about getting out of the ninth without a run. The ninth is the ballgame. Put in your best guy. Cordero was obviously available, and should have been in. If you get past the ninth, you have Villanueva and Dessens who can both eat up innings if necessary. To his credit, I thought he managed the bottom half well. Two years ago it was Botallico, last year it was Turnbow. More of Ned's stubborness with the bullpen costing us games. Aquino should only be on for mop-up duty from now on. But it will probably take another 3 losses for Ned to realize this.
  2. Shouldn't have gotten this far. Ned reminds us again how inept he is when it comes to managing a bullpen.
  3. Heeeeyyyyy struck eemm out looooking! Atta way D-Bow!
  4. Agreed 100% here... that really ticked my brother and I off. Brady deserved the pre-game ovation every time he came to the plate. I bet he gets cheered the next two games when the crowd isn't blitzed.
  5. From JS Sportswatch: Fielder scratched from exhibition opener Phoenix- First baseman Prince Fielder was scratched from the starting lineup for the Brewers' exhibition season opener today against Oakland with tightness in his right quadriceps. Manager Ned Yost said the tightness in Fielder's quad was the result of running the 60-yard dash for time during a workout Wednesday. He was replaced at first base by Vinny Rottino for the exhibition opener. The Breewers' lineup for today's game: Corey Hart rf J.J. Hardy ss Kevin Mench lf Bill Hall cf Johnny Estrada c Ryan Braun 3b Vinny Rottino 1b Rickie Weeks 2b Claudio Vargas p Yost said Weeks will be allowed to bunt only in the game today as the Brewers continue to ease him back into swinging the bat after getting an injection in his surgically repaired right wrist last week. Braun, the Brewers' top everyday prospect, will get pleny of action in the early going of exhibition play because Corey Koskie is still sidelined with post-concussion syndrome and Yost wants to go slow with veteran infielders Craig Counsell and Tony Graffanino.
  6. And when you do see W's, you're nowhere to be found on these boards...
  7. Steve you hit the nail on the head... Cordero had to be perfect after the little league "triple." I can tolerate the two walks because he had to be exact with his spots to get the Ks he desperately needed. Also, whoever said this could be a turnaround game could be right... I saw more emotion on that bench in the ninth and after the final out than I have most of the year (not counting the walkoff wins). I hope this win is as big as it feels.

  9. This team does not have the look of a contender right now. I keep wanting them to prove theyre not overrated... still haven't seen it.
  10. Glad to see I'm not the only one who DETESTS Minute Maid Park. The screwed up dimensions, the short porches, that stinking hill in CF. It almost ruins the game. I hope in 40 years I have the chance to blow that place up.
  11. Wow... I am starting to seriously think this team is completely overrated. They can't do anything right on this trip, other than the starting pitching which has been solid (until tonight). It sounds absurd to say a series in April is big, but they seriously need to stop the bleeding against the Redlegs this weekend.
  12. Great, the guy is making his first start- normally bad news... but I have a feeling the short porches will be kind to the Crew tonight. Rickie goes deep tonight, put it in the books. 6-3 Crew.
  13. I might not watch tomorrow... with Ohka on the hill, facing that lineup... yikes. Longballs a plenty tomorrow for the Metropolitans.
  14. Iribarren with a 2 run single. Brewers bat around and put up 6 in the 8th inning. 9-2 Brew.
  15. WOAH SOLVDD Palsmo clears the bases with a three run double. 6-2 Good Guys.
  16. Best thing Moeller has done at the plate since he hit for the cycle...
  17. Why are they so in love with Phelps while Adams is rotting down in AAA?! At this point I hope they go in the tank so I can save some money on tickets...
  18. How long is he going to let Glover get shelled out there?! Unbelievable. I think for my own health I am going to ignore the rest of this series...
  19. The thing that concerns me is the approach they are taking at the plate. Lee is not working the count, Jenkins continues to K on the same pitches. For example, how many times today did Lee chase outside? Several times either striking out or popping up. Same with Spivey, he is chasing way too many pitches low and away. If I saw more discipline out of our big guns then I wouldn't worry about it as much.
  20. How much of this falls on Butch Wynegar? Our offense has been dismal in his time here, and now we supposedly have bats in the lineup and its the same old story. This team can't hit!!
  21. Lee and Jenks do what they do best.. strikeout
  22. Good things happen when you put it in play! Nice job JJ, would have got the run home even w/o the error.
  23. That's the truth... or like the brilliant people they are, start chanting "Let's Go Cubbies" at the game last night. Way to go Madtown.
